Lynwood Community Adult School (LCAS) - LCAS and the Pearson Vue Testing Center are located at 11277 Atlantic Avenue. Day classes are held at the location on Atlantic Avenue while evening classes are held on the campus of Marco Antonio Firebaugh H.S. located at 5246 Martin Luther King Jr. Blvd. Lynwood Community Adult School programs consist of Adult Secondary Education (HS Diploma and GED preparation), English as a Second Language (ESL), Adult Basic Education (ABE), Citizenship classes, and Career Training (CTE). CTE classes include Solid Works Engineering, Child Development, and Medical Careers -LVN, CNA, MA, EKG, Phlebotomy, Pharmacy Tech and many community classes held throughout the city from yoga and fitness to computers, and Spanish language.
The Lynwood Unified School District (LUSD) hosts several events and competitions for students and residents of Lynwood annually. A key example is the Lynwood Run For Education, or Lynwood 5K, which is an annual competition for Lynwood residents to run 3 miles, starting from Lynwood City Hall, and ending on Martin Luther King Jr Boulevard facing the Jack In The Box on Atlantic Avenue. It aims to raise funds for students through the Lynwood Partners Educational Foundation. All runners that finish the race are eligible to receive a medal. The first Lynwood Run For Education took place on May 21, 2022. Since then, it has continued to be held by the Lynwood Unified School District.
The Lynwood Unified School District also holds annual spelling bees for students, as well as math tournaments known as Math-A-Thon. Spelling bees within the Lynwood Unified School District are usually held within district schools, and the winners of the competitions are sent to the district spelling bee, which occurs at Bateman Hall at 11331 Ernestine Avenue in Lynwood. Math-A-Thon is usually held at Marco Antonio Firebaugh High School at 5246 Martin Luther King Jr Boulevard.
