Species of gastropod
Odostomia deplexa, common name the unwoven pyramid-shell, is a species of sea snail, a marine gastropod mollusc in the family Pyramidellidae, the pyrams and their allies.[1]
Description
Like other species in the genus odostomia, O. deplexa is a small, conical-shaped snail. Members of this genus typically have smooth, glossy shells, and are ectoparasites on other marine invertebrates. Specific details about the shell size, coloration, and sculpture of O. deplexa were described by Penas and Rolan in their 1999 taxonomic work.
Distribution
Odostomia deplexa is found in marine environments, though the exact geographic range is not widely published. Many Odostomia species are known from European, West African, or India-pacific waters.
