Prakashchandra Pandurang Shirodkar
Prakashchandra Pandurang Shirodkar (1941 – 6 May 2021)[1] was an Indian indologist, archaeologist, and writer. He had devoted his career to research, and made contributions in archaeology.[2] He was the founding editor of two research journals, Colloquium and Purābhileka-Purātatva.[3] Personal lifeHe was the eldest son of Pandurang Purushottam Shirodkar, who was a freedom activist of Goa, and also served as the first speaker of the Goa, Daman and Diu Legislative Assembly under the Maharashtrawadi Gomantak Party.[4] CareerIn 1993, Shirodkar discovered rock art engravings on lateritic platforms and granite boulders from Usgalimal on the banks of west-flowing river Kushavati, which has shed light on the prehistory of Goa and the existence of humans in Goa during the Paleolithic and Mesolithic.[5][6] DeathShirodkar died on 6 May 2021 due to ill health.[1] Bibliography
