SOMOS Productions LLC is an independent audiovisual content producer focused on the production of Television content headquartered in Miami, Florida. The company concentrates in Spanish language content, and it is involved in concept creation and development, production management, consulting, technical production of multi-camera events in several genres (fiction, drama, variety shows, and documentaries, among others). SOMOS Productions is headed by Luis Villanueva, an executive in the Hispanic media and entertainment industry, President and CEO of SOMOS Group, entity that includes SOMOSTV, SOMOS Distribution, SOMOS Next, SOMOS Fast and SOMOS Films. SOMOS Productions participates in co-production with international partnering companies in several countries. HistoryFounded in 2012,[1] SOMOS Productions started its production catalog with two teen series 11-11: En mi cuadra nada cuadra,[2][3][4] written by Luis Llosa and Pablo Vasquez (75 episodes) and directed by Cary Delgado, Diego Salazar, and Cusi Barrio. The company produced as well Vikki RPM[5][6][7] (60 episodes), based on an original idea by Eduardo Jiménez-Pons, written by Catharina Ledeboer and Rocio Lara, directed by William Barragan, Maria Eugenia Herrera, Tito Rojas, and Diego Salazar. These series were produced for Nickelodeon Latin America and successfully broadcast in the region. The company has also produced TV formats for Telemundo network. In 2013, SOMOS Productions produced Todos Somos Héroes[8][9](Duration: 2 hours). The format highlights the stories of ordinary people who have made a difference in their families, friends, communities, and countries. It also produced the Premios Billboard de la Musica Mexicana [10][11](Duration: 2 hours), devoted to the best-selling Latin music genre in the United States: Regional Mexican. SOMOS Productions has been the producer of the Latin American Music Awards[12][13] (years 2015, 2016, 2017, 2018, 2019, 2021, 2022), a 3-hour live show honoring today's most influential and iconic Latin artists, voted for by fans. The awards honor artists in Pop rock, Regional Mexican, Urban music, and Tropical music genres. In 2016, SOMOS Productions co-produced one of its most successful series Hasta que te conocí (TV series)[14][15][16], a biographical tv-series that follows the footsteps of "Juan Gabriel" toward his dream of fame. A tour of 14 episodes based on unpublished testimonies produced by Juan Gabriel in collaboration with SOMOS Productions, BTF Media, and Disney Media Distribution and written by Abe Panes, Edgar Cuevas, Mary Black, Camilo Hernandez, Sergio Jablon. The series narrate how Alberto Aguilera Valadez and his talent led him to defy fate and overcome poverty, betrayal, and prejudice. In 2020, the company followed on these steps with "Súbete a mi moto"[17][18][19][20][21](15 episodes) in coproduction with Endemol Shine Boomdog (Mexico) and Piñolywood (Puerto Rico). told the story of the famous boyband Menudo, a musical group that laid the foundations for the "boybands" that still exist today. The band was the beginning of the solo careers of many important figures and continues to be the reference for all other Hispanic youth bands. The series premiered successfully on Amazon Prime Video on October 9, 2020, in Mexico, Latin America, and Spain. Súbete a Mi Moto was directed by Raul Garcia and Javier Solar. The company continued its production of musical youth series with "@Gina Yei: With All My Heart And More" [22](12 episodes). This is the story of a young woman that thanks to her talent for lyrics, won a scholarship at an Institute located on the island of Puerto Encantado, considered the best place in the world to study Latin music and the cradle of reggaeton. The story was written by Vladimir Pérez, Nailys Sánchez, Edgar Cuevas and Miguel A Medina. The series was co-produced with Piñolywood Studios for the Walt Disney Company, premiering worldwide on Disney+[23] SOMOS Productions recently finished its production Lucy es el 7 [24][25][26](12 episodes). Lucy's imagination is very particular, she sees the people around her as if they were characters from an oriental anime and is in love with a boy.
