The only confirmation I have for the new link Coach Services is the external link in the Sydney Coach Terminal article.
The conversion to Navbox generic is to standardise with the other very similar template Template:List of public transport infrastructure in Sydney. The Template:Navbox generic is more suitable for templates with groups. The old table is constructed poorly in terms of the fact that group title on the left (for example, "Rail") is not horizontally aligned with its contents (in this case, Airport Link | CityRail | Metro Transport Sydney | Veolia ).
New template is causing other templates to colapse, this one seems to be spaced out better and easier to read. Putting public transport infrustructer in the Dangar Island article was wrong as well. The only reason the pulic transport nav box is in that article is because of the Dangar Island ferry, if it wasn't for that it would not be in the article. Changing the other public transport nav box has made the text look messy, it should be spaced out a bit more and centered like the previous versions--Ad@m.J.W.C.13:36, 24 August 2007 (UTC)[reply]
By simply adding the tag "state=expand" in the navbox generic template will solve the issue of templates collapsing. If you would like spaced out texts, changing the bullets (like you did in the other infrastructure template) as well as changing the font size will make it look better. I would like to reiterate my point above that the existing template has the following problems:
The group title is not horizontally aligned with its group contents - particularly for single-lined groups (ie. Rail). This creates problem for users to navigate properly
Go ahead and change or revert back, this will cuase other templates to collapse that have more than one template, I would consider remove template from Dangar Island article and Sydney Coach Terminal article if collapsed and replace with Template:Tourism
I see a sock puppet has created an article about a flash-in-the-pan proposal for a cable car to White Bay and added a link to it here. I've proposed the article itself be deleted: Wikipedia:Articles for deletion/Harbour SkyLink. Even if it isn't deleted there, I don't think it's significant enough (it's an unofficial proposal) to go in this overview template. Mqst north (talk) 13:25, 10 August 2015 (UTC)[reply]
Uber
An anonymous user deleted the reference to Uber under "point to point". Since we have included bus operators whose operations go beyond Sydney, it seems churlish to exclude Uber on the basis it isn't just a Sydney service. It is a significant part of the Sydney transport landscape. Mqst north (talk) 00:28, 1 December 2017 (UTC)[reply]
All other articles included are I think I am correct in saying, Sydney or New South Wales specific. While some of the operators are part of global organisations, the articles included are specifically about their local operations. The Uber article is about its global operations, only mention of Sydney is briefly in the context of its surcharges during a terror attack. 203.132.76.162 (talk) 05:00, 1 December 2017 (UTC)[reply]
As you point out, even though the navbox is about Sydney, many of the operator links go to pages with a focus beyond Sydney. That most (though not all) of these operators only operate in NSW is a feature of the local industry, not a rule about inclusion in these lists. Uber is a major player in the city’s point-to-point transport network, and readers benefit from the more complete picture its inclusion provides. Mqst north (talk) 17:06, 1 December 2017 (UTC)[reply]
Sydney Metro City italics
The note on the Sydney Metro City & Southwest instructs to remove its italics once the Sydenham-Bankstown section opens. I would argue that having it in italics implies that none of the line is open. I view the line as being open with an extension to it set to open this year. I propose removing its italics now. -DilatoryRevolution (talk) 01:19, 24 February 2025 (UTC)[reply]
