Help!
I found out while looking in the talk of the User:!! page, someone has hacked my old Goglogo2 account...I need help finding out who it is.--GoglogoFinal (talk) 21:42, 1 April 2013 (UTC)GoglogoFinal
Good luck with that, it's been years since reading AN/I hasn't made me want to gag. made me laugh. Also your user talk is looking very empty for a Bureaucrat's. Not sure if it's just the archiving or if it's an April Fool's that needs fixing. MIVP - (Can I Help?) (Maybe a bit of tea for thought?)17:46, 2 April 2013 (UTC)
I was a big fan of Mr. Ebert. To see that discussion devolve into arguments over outing policy, of all things, made me a little angry, to be honest with you. 28bytes (talk) 18:23, 5 April 2013 (UTC)
Me too; I remember when he was still on PBS. I always liked the fat one better than the bald one, but I enjoyed them both. --Floquenbeam (talk) 18:31, 5 April 2013 (UTC)
Hello! You've requested a cloak for IRC, however there's a problem. The system doesn't allow digits right after the slash. So if you want a cloak we need to find another way to set it up. One solution would be wikipedia/twenty-eight-bytes or something like that. If you got a better idea then let me know on my meta talk page. Regards, -Barrastalk12:08, 8 April 2013 (UTC)
OK, underscores actually don't work in cloaks at all on IRC. I now made it wikipedia/-28bytes. I hope that is ok for you. If you want it changed to the numbers, just leave me a line at meta. Regards, -Barrastalk19:38, 16 April 2013 (UTC)

Thanks for the discussion close. While I disagree with the consensus there, it's clear that the discussion wouldn't have led to anything and would have produced a lot of heat had it been left open. RyanVesey01:19, 16 April 2013 (UTC)
Hello Sir I'm Shashank Rayal, existing user of wikipedia. My current username is "Shashankrayal" and I want to change it to "Shashank Rayal", which is available. Please help me to change it.
Sorry. It hadn't yet occurred to me that I should check to see if someone is already a crat before posting this on their talk page. Of course, you are still welcome to leave a comment if you have anything to say. AutomaticStrikeout (T • C • Sign AAPT) 01:38, 17 April 2013 (UTC)
This user is a bureaucrat, and might like to be one some day.
Name Change
Hello 28bytes, you were recommended to me by the very helpful User:Cassianto. When I created my account I used the name "TheDarkUnicorn" but I actually wanted just the name "Dark Unicorn" (without "The", and with a space in between the words) as my username but I think "DarkUnicorn" was taken or was told it was too similiar or something, and I didn't want to add silly numbers after the name hence the "the". I also didn't realize I could put spaces in until after I created the account. I would really appreciate if you could change my current username to "Dark Unicorn" - as per my signature, as this is how I would rather be identified. Thanks for your time. Dark Unicorn20:24, 19 April 2013 (UTC)
Wow .. and "Dark Unicorn" is such a cool user name too. I might have to grab that for an alt. account if it comes up. Sorry ... just a (talk page stalker) wandering through .. just ignore me. — Ched : ? 21:13, 19 April 2013 (UTC) ... never mind ... just read the details. Still .... very cool user name. — Ched : ? 21:14, 19 April 2013 (UTC)
I just noticed this of a few edits back in 2006, so the name change would require what we call a "usurp". I'm not sure what the numbers or details are, but usually I think you try to contact the original owner of that account, and there's a 7 day wait to see if they object. I only know that because 28bytes helped me with one a while back. He'd know the details and if it's possible, and what links you'd have to follow though. Good luck. — Ched : ? 21:21, 19 April 2013 (UTC)
Hi Dark Unicorn. Ched is right, it looks like this will need a usurp since User:Dark Unicorn has already been registered, but it's a pretty painless process. If you follow the instructions at WP:USURP (including leaving a note on User talk:Dark Unicorn that you're interested in acquiring the name), I or another 'crat will be happy to help you out. Let me know if you have any questions. 28bytes (talk) 03:02, 20 April 2013 (UTC)
Thanks Ched and 28bytes for your replies. And thanks Ched for the compliment on the name (Please don't take it from me!). Pardon my ignorance but does the user name conflict if a letter is upper or lowercase (that user has lowercase "u" while mine is bigger (I mean "upper". Oops!)). Also that user doesn't seem to have had any activity since February 2006, what are the chances of ever getting a reply if I leave a message? Thanks for your help and I apologize for my stupidity. Dark Unicorn09:37, 20 April 2013 (UTC)
There are actually two users (aside from yourself) who've registered a similar name: User:Dark unicorn (lowercase "u"), which made some edits in 2006, and User:Dark Unicorn (uppercase "U"), which has no edits. Since you have very few edits, you would likely run into trouble trying to usurp User:Dark unicorn, but usurping User:Dark Unicorn should be less of an issue. In general if, after you've left the usurp notice on the user's talk page, a week goes by with no objections, the usurp is usually granted. Hope that helps. 28bytes (talk) 09:51, 20 April 2013 (UTC)
Sorry I didn't see that - when I clicked on User:Dark Unicorn and it said "page does not exist" I assumed it wasn't a registered account. My mistake. I also didn't know that if a message wasn't replied to in a week I could be entitled to the name (but what if the user is just away on vacation and still wants the name?). Anyway I'll now go and try the usurp thing. Thanks again. Dark Unicorn10:11, 20 April 2013 (UTC)
Could you please provide a third opinion on the potentially dangerous misrepresentation of several articles on Stalking. The discussion is here Talk:Stalking#Removal_of_properly_sourced_information and revolves around the misrepresentation of two sourced articles, and the opinion of an Administrator being inserted in the content of Stalking over the viewpoint of the sourced material, including articles as well as studies.
