Re: Dimsum Daily

Hello Amigao! First of all, I want to express my greatest appreciation for your contributions to Chinese-related articles, particularly in replacing and removing deprecated sources in citations. Recently, the zhwiki has reached a consensus to blacklist the English-language news blog Dimsum Daily. While cleaning up on zhwiki, I found that it had also been extensively cited here on enwiki. Although community consensus does not apply across Wikiprojects, I believe the blog's consistent publication of fake news, lack of journalistic independence and oversight, and its controversial ties to pro-CCP founders and a Chinese-funded marketing agency render it a questionable source that should be avoided. I have already replaced the Dimsum Daily sources in all 161 articles that cited it with more reliable alternatives and enwiki is now free from this source. But I still wanted to bring this to your attention to see if you would kindly provide some assistance and keep this source under scrutiny when patrolling articles in the future. Thanks so much and see you around! —👑PRINCE of EREBOR📜 17:04, 27 May 2025 (UTC)[reply]

Thanks, Prince of Erebor. I would also recommend you consider adding it as a proposed addition at WP:SBL. - Amigao (talk) 21:24, 27 May 2025 (UTC)[reply]
Good idea! I have submitted a request at WT:SBL. —👑PRINCE of EREBOR📜 09:32, 28 May 2025 (UTC)[reply]
Prince of Erebor, it might also be useful to get a discussion about it going on WP:RSN, as it continues to be used in English Wikipedia. - Amigao (talk) 20:16, 7 June 2025 (UTC)[reply]
Amigao, I am not familiar with the RSN on enwiki, so I may be mistaken. I thought that only sources discussed multiple times could start an RfC, while single-time queries typically concern whether a source is citable in a specific article. —👑PRINCE of EREBOR📜 05:22, 8 June 2025 (UTC)[reply]
Prince of Erebor, it may still be useful to get a first discussion going regarding the source given that it continues to be used on enwiki even after you did your initial cleanup. - Amigao (talk) 15:05, 8 June 2025 (UTC)[reply]
Right! I have started a discussion at WP:RSN#Dimsum Daily. —👑PRINCE of EREBOR📜 15:52, 9 June 2025 (UTC)[reply]

Removal of paragraph in Intervision 2025 Article

Hey Amigao!

I saw you removed a section in the "Intervision Song Contest 2025" article, due to an unreliable source (Wikipedia:RT.COM).

I appreciate the effort of removing unreliable sources and I agree that the article should not rely on them at all. I apologize for this rookie mistake on my part.

However, the section was also backed by another source (euronews.com), which is not marked unreliable. I think removing the one unreliable source would have sufficed, not deleting the entire section, right? I will also add another explicitly reliable source now (Guardian) which includes exactly the same information. Elouxas (talk) 19:31, 28 May 2025 (UTC)[reply]

Thanks for finding a WP:RS. The quote in question was not backed up by Euronews source, so it failed verification for what was being stated. For any quote by a living person, it is especially important to have a WP:RS. - Amigao (talk) 01:24, 29 May 2025 (UTC)[reply]

Warning icon Please stop. If you continue to vandalize Wikipedia, as you did at Ministry of Public Security Active Service Forces, you may be blocked from editing. MOS:INTERWIKI explicitly states that interlanguage links can be used when the article does not exist on english wikipedia. Thehistorianisaac (talk) 23:58, 28 May 2025 (UTC)[reply]

You probably should also review MOS:DL as you don't need to link the same thing over and over in an article. - Amigao (talk) 01:25, 29 May 2025 (UTC)[reply]

Thanks!

Hi!

Thanks for cleaning up the article, supreme state organ of power, and its sister articles. I need all the help I can get, and I really appreciate it! :) TheUzbek (talk) 10:37, 30 June 2025 (UTC)[reply]

Lucien Janvier

Hi, I think there is very good evidence that Lucien Janvier is, in fact, Meir Masri. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/User_talk:Meir_Masri is re-routed to https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/User_talk:Lucien_Janvier - this suggests that at some point in the past he was caught editing his own article and then changed his username to try to avoid being caught again. He also links to sources which do not confirm claims made (e.g. he is not employed at Hebrew University). 208.105.236.74 (talk) 22:39, 13 July 2025 (UTC)[reply]

Question about the copy-edit tag on Huang Xianfan

Hello Amigao,

I saw you placed a

template on the article Article Name. I would like to help fix the issues you found.

To help me get started, could you please point out a few specific examples of what needs attention? This would help me focus my edits and save time. Thanks for your help! Astrid-AK (talk) 03:33, 28 July 2025 (UTC)[reply]
