Hi, I saw your response to WarriorScribe's 3RRvio report. I agree totally with your ideas, except most other admins don't. Protecting pages is a big deal and they prefer to enforce the 3RR. In such cases, I usually say that I won't enforce the rule if all parties stop reverting - if someone who has already violated the rule makes another revert, then enforce the rule against that user only. I can't really understand when pages should be protected (the WP:PPol isn't clear enough) - it's usually for big edit wars that have lasted for more than 24 hours (ie the parties are gaming the 3RR). AE, I took out the para re the special qualities of Persian. That's POV. Wikipedia can't say that some languages are better than others. People have written poetry in every language that exists, and speakers of that language enjoy the poetry. It's not the Persian language that makes Rumi special, it's his own skill and insight. Hi, could you please unprotect Comparative military ranks of World War II. As the 3RR has been enforced, the edit war has stopped. Out of the four main editors on that article, Nixer is the one who causes trouble. Page protections are a big deal and I don't think that everyone should be punished for Nixer's trolling, which believe me, he has a long history of (remeber his block log)? Thanks. I have created this policy proposal because of my recent observations about admin and community issues. Increasing vandalism and increasing admin disputes are not good. Just, see what you think and maybe tell others? I have no idea if anyone will like support this idea or if there is anything similar out there that I haven't seen besides Wikipedia:Requests for rollback privileges (I looked through the policy proposal cat and saw nothing). Per Wikipedia:Requests for adminship/JzG, did you also look at my old account? The Editcount tool shows 1878 edits to the main article space under that account. And yes, with that account, too, I made more edits to the project space than to the article space - partly because of extended discussions in some RfC/RfAr issues but mainly in AfD. I acknowledge the point re edit summaries and have added a "force edit summary" script to my monobook.js. Anon - I had been working on the Robert Spencer page for a while, until some of the folks who work for Spencer got very involved with trying to remove the critical aspects of the article. Could you point out in what articles the word "holy" was appropriately used before I removed them? I have tried to avoid removing it from citations, or book titles. If I made an error in doing that, please be more specific! In general, there's no need to call the Qur'an, the Bible, or any other religious book "holy". Stating that "the Holy Qur'an" is declared the constitution of the country is not neutral.
