ThanksThank you for your support of my RfA, and for your generous comment. I appreciate your confidence. Best wishes for a happy new year, Tom Harrison Talk 13:24, 4 January 2006 (UTC) RfAHi, I know that there was nothing suspicious in the edit you made. It just would have been safer to have done nothing. Anyway, good luck, I hope and expect to see you as an admin real soon now. Dlyons493 Talk 04:19, 5 January 2006 (UTC)
Hey man, thanks very much for voting in my RfA, I got it! :) If you need anything, just give me a shout. - FrancisTyers 00:50, 6 January 2006 (UTC) Congratulations!Congratulations! It's my pleasure to let you know that, consensus being reached, you are now an administrator. You should read the relevant policies and other pages linked to from the administrators' reading list before carrying out tasks like deletion, protection, banning users, and editing protected pages such as the Main Page. Most of what you do is easily reversible by other sysops, apart from page history merges and image deletion, so please be especially careful with those. You might find the new administrators' how-to guide helpful. Cheers! -- Cecropia 17:17, 6 January 2006 (UTC) My congrats to you as well; you're very welcome. PJM 17:54, 6 January 2006 (UTC)

RollbackHey there, just to let you know (as I've been told off for this in the past, hehe) that as per Wikipedia:Administrators#Reverting, you should try to avoid using your rollback button for edits that are not simple vandalism. Thanks, →FireFox 19:30, 6 January 2006 (UTC)

Also, I'm happy that we have now patched things up, and also that we had not, as I was concerned, "screwed ourselves" in the process! So thank you so much, happy tidings, and I shall see you around! Great startSince my congrats message, I've seen you beating me to reverts of vandalism using your new button, and being very restrained and reasonable on 3RR/Warrior Scribe. Wonderful start. KillerChihuahua?!? 22:56, 6 January 2006 (UTC) 3RRviosHi, I saw your response to WarriorScribe's 3RRvio report. I agree totally with your ideas, except most other admins don't. Protecting pages is a big deal and they prefer to enforce the 3RR. In such cases, I usually say that I won't enforce the rule if all parties stop reverting - if someone who has already violated the rule makes another revert, then enforce the rule against that user only. I can't really understand when pages should be protected (the WP:PPol isn't clear enough) - it's usually for big edit wars that have lasted for more than 24 hours (ie the parties are gaming the 3RR). Cheers! Izehar 23:02, 6 January 2006 (UTC) Persian languageAE, I took out the para re the special qualities of Persian. That's POV. Wikipedia can't say that some languages are better than others. People have written poetry in every language that exists, and speakers of that language enjoy the poetry. It's not the Persian language that makes Rumi special, it's his own skill and insight. Delete articleIs it possible to get an article deleted that I created earlier today, for which I am the sole contributor so far, without going through the formal delete process? The article is redundent as I replaced with a template, and there is nothing that links to it. The article is [[1]]. Thanks —akghetto talk 23:48, 6 January 2006 (UTC)

As the 3RR has been enforced, the edit war has stopped. Out of the four main editors on that article, Nixer is the one who causes trouble. Page protections are a big deal and I don't think that everyone should be punished for Nixer's trolling, which believe me, he has a long history of (remeber his block log)? Thanks. Izehar 22:03, 9 January 2006 (UTC)
Thanks. Izehar 22:19, 9 January 2006 (UTC) I have created this policy proposal because of my recent observations about admin and community issues. Increasing vandalism and increasing admin disputes are not good. Just, see what you think and maybe tell others? I have no idea if anyone will like support this idea or if there is anything similar out there that I haven't seen besides Wikipedia:Requests for rollback privileges (I looked through the policy proposal cat and saw nothing). Just testing the waters. (stock text) gren グレン ? 13:31, 10 January 2006 (UTC) JzGPer Wikipedia:Requests for adminship/JzG, did you also look at my old account? The Editcount tool shows 1878 edits to the main article space under that account. And yes, with that account, too, I made more edits to the project space than to the article space - partly because of extended discussions in some RfC/RfAr issues but mainly in AfD. I acknowledge the point re edit summaries and have added a "force edit summary" script to my monobook.js. Thanks for your comments, - Just zis Guy, you know? [T]/[C] Eid MubarakEid Saeed ! Article HelpAnon - I had been working on the Robert Spencer page for a while, until some of the folks who work for Spencer got very involved with trying to remove the critical aspects of the article. Would love to have an outside voice take a look at the page if you have time - I am too close to it now to try to get to NPOV, but I think the article edit wars have serious problems. --Yalto 03:35, 11 January 2006 (UTC)

Thanks and QuestionsThanks for reverting Cherokee society. Why would anyone want to delete the article? Is it the article itself or because I'm the one who started the article? I realize I have folks on Wikipedia that literally hate my guts. That is their misfortune. The best revenge is too live well and happy. So that is what I'm attempting to do. Wado (thank you in Cherokee), --Bumpusmills1 04:47, 11 January 2006 (UTC) Belated congratulationsThis is way overdue, but CONGRATULATIONS on your new admin appointment! --MPerel ( talk | contrib) 07:16, 11 January 2006 (UTC) favorHey, Anon, I hope you don't mind my asking you for an admin-favor. I'd like to move Niccolo Tribolo to Niccolò Tribolo (the name already reflected by the article headword) and can't because someone corrected a typo in the redirect at some point. I'm reluctant to post it at WP:RM because it's so ridiculously trivial. Would you mind terribly just deleting the Niccolò Tribolo redirect so I can perform the move? As you can see, it's got no history whatsoever. Thanks. Chick Bowen 00:49, 12 January 2006 (UTC)

Peace BYT 16:30, 12 January 2006 (UTC) "Holy"Could you point out in what articles the word "holy" was appropriately used before I removed them? I have tried to avoid removing it from citations, or book titles. If I made an error in doing that, please be more specific! In general, there's no need to call the Qur'an, the Bible, or any other religious book "holy". This is in line with Wikipedia policy! ---Benne ['bɛnə] (talk) 21:17, 12 January 2006 (UTC) I might have made a mistake in editing the Nation of Islam, but I disagree with you on [2]. Stating that "the Holy Qur'an" is declared the constitution of the country is not neutral. It's not a citation, it doesn't say that the Qur'an is the holy book of Islam, it's therefore unnecessary to use the adjective "holy". In my opinion, most of my edits are in line with Wikipedia:Manual of Style (Islam-related articles). ---Benne ['bɛnə] (talk) 21:33, 12 January 2006 (UTC) Well, if you think it's unnecessary to remove holy from phrases like "the Holy Qur'an", you should criticise the policy I just mentioned. Please note that I also removed "holy" from "the Holy Bible" a few times. After stating once that Muhammad is the prophet of Islam, there's no necessity to repeat that title. And to me, it doesn't seem like the title "Christ" is used superfluously in the Christ article. And there's a difference in usage between the name Jesus, and the title Christ, which is explained in the article. But that's beside the point. ---Benne ['bɛnə] (talk) 21:56, 12 January 2006 (UTC) Replied on your talk page. --a.n.o.n.y.m t 23:14, 12 January 2006 (UTC) My RfA![]() My RfAAnonymous editor, thank you very much for supporting me during my recent RfA campaign!
