In a recent edit to the page Air ioniser, you changed one or more words or styles from one national variety of English to another. Because Wikipedia has readers from all over the world, our policy is to respect national varieties of English in Wikipedia articles.

For a subject exclusively related to the United Kingdom (for example, a famous British person), use British English. For something related to the United States in the same way, use American English. For something related to another English-speaking country, such as Canada, Australia, or New Zealand, use the variety of English used there. For an international topic, use the form of English that the original author used.

In view of that, please don't change articles from one version of English to another, even if you don't normally use the version in which the article is written. Respect other people's versions of English. They, in turn, should respect yours. Other general guidelines on how Wikipedia articles are written can be found in the Manual of Style. What the cites use doesn't matter as we are not using the cites to verify the spelling. Are you suggesting that the article can now only use cites with the 'z' spelling? Because should anyone add one with an 's' the consistency you're trying to achieve would be ruined. Yes, consistency within the article matters, but I believe it was consistent using 's'. MOS guidelines say that unless there is a clear national connection in the article subject, spelling varieties should not be changed. --Escape Orbit ^(Talk) 18:58, 26 January 2013 (UTC)

My apologies, Escape Orbit; in my link above I sourced the wrong location. I intended to link to Wikipedia:Manual of Style#Consistency within articles, which addresses this. The idea is to use the spelling that is already most common within the article. In this case, "ize" was more common (2:1 or 3:1, without including the sources). Consistency is equally about sticking with how the spelling started out, unless there is good reason to change. If there was content added to the article that doesn't follow the spelling of the article name, no matter how many instances, then it is they that should be fixed, not the other way around. If I add a bunch more cited content, choosing to spell it with an 's', do we switch it all back again? Hi Escape Orbit. I agree completely. I merely presumed, given the significantly larger frequency of American spellings, that American English was the pre-existing state of the article (it was even tagged with {{Use American English}}). Yes: when I write new articles like this (admittedly I've only done it a few times, but still), I like to develop them in a sandbox or sandbox-like space until they are ready to move to the mainspace. I've linked to WP:GRF/PR in the history, but I regard the article itself as being "created" when it was moved into the mainspace, not when I started working in my sandbox. If you think this practice is incorrect, please let me know, but I've been doing it for years and haven't had any problems with it (or even comments about it). Thanks and have a great break! It is not a problem when you are the only contributor (as was the case here, or in your sandbox), but it causes an attribution issue when several users collaborate. The problem in this case is that next time there is a collaboration undertaken at WP:GRF/PR, the old history will be combined with the new, and will need sorting out (assuming multiple different users contribute). The page related cTrader (of spotware limited) had been deleted by you - I do not understand why: the company operates on the market for a few years; won nomination of the year in forex industry for 2012; has a significant market share, authorised by various financial institutions in Europe, there is so much about it in the press; why do you object public learning more about the company? Greetings Olga. If you think that cTrader meets Wikipedia's criteria for notability (which it very well may), I would recommend that you collect all of the relevant secondary sources. Feel free to paste them here. Alternatively, it may be better to start by expanding the section in FxPro#cTrader. Dear Arbitrarily0 I took some time to research the topic from different angles: in terms of notability criteria I am convinced that cTrader meets the criteria because it is a trading platform for forex industry with the current client base (brokers) of over 40 companies and the number and as I understand is constantly expanding- so FxPro is one on these 40+ brokers, maybe it will be very biased to present cTrader by expanding the section on FxPro's page; they set new industry standards in the so-far monopolistic trading industry (where previously mainly operated Metatrader). I have checked the websites of their most notable clients although not all are presented in Wikipedia - they do indeed actively offer trading through cTrader's platform. By the number of players in the industry the company has acquired market share in excess of 10 per cent and that is only in the first year.

In terms of secondary resources - they have adequate press coverage for a new company; if you agree that they deserve to have a page I will start collecting more info from secondary sources and drafting a wiki-page for them.

Hi again Olga. I think the most appropriate way to continue would be to add any noteworthy information about cTrader (information that is reliable sourced) to the page FxPro#cTrader. Note that coverage from major news sources is preferred over press releases. If the information on cTrader begins to dominate the FxPro page, then it may be worth considering splitting cTrader into its own article, but as it stands the article seems balanced. Hello. You closed the discussion as denied, but I wanted to point out that Khoren Hovhannisyan was born and has always lived in Armenia. That means he speaks the Eastern dialect. To put it in simple terms:

Oganesian = Western dialect

Hovhannisyan = Eastern dialect

Both are pronounced the same way. Even though the discussion didn't lean that way, I don't think this can really be debated because it comes down to the fact Hovhannisyan used the Eastern dialect. Will you please move the page anyway? --TheShadowCrow (talk) 00:53, 13 April 2013 (UTC)

At one point in the 2012 edits of Xbox One someone claimed it was a repost of Xbox TEN [1]. The AFD for this "Xbox TEN" is also mentioned in the article milestones. So shouldn't the history for Xbox TEN be undeleted & moved over to the Xbox One edit history? SNS (talk) 01:41, 23 May 2013 (UTC)

Hello SNS! Please bear with me, the page history is quite complicated, but it seems like indeed, all of the old revisions of Xbox TEN are still stored in the deleted revisions at Xbox TEN. Possibly then the better solution is to remove the Xbox TEN AFD from the Xbox One milestones. The reason for history merges is for attribution purposes, but looking at the state of the old Xbox TEN article, it seems significantly different to the past revision at Xbox ONE here. Hello Arbitrarily0, or should I say, Dear Mr 0...

Advice needed please. Some years ago you took the decision to remove our page and redirect it to another. However we do feel we should have a page - all the schools on our local circuit do, such as http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Abberley_Hall_School and we wondered why ours was removed.

We are a school of national importance, and feed children to national senior schools such as Rugby and Eton.

Please explain how I can give the page some weight and ensure it does not get deleted again. I have replaced the redirect with a short placeholder text.

In 2010, you deleted a page of Mark A. Fisher Wikipedia:Articles_for_deletion/Mark_A._Fischer. The page has been recreated Mark_A._Fischer recently, and showed up in the list of pages to be patrolled, by a blocked user listed in Wikipedia:Sockpuppet_investigations/Morning277. This SP investigation appears to be related to edits for payment. It appears to me that the Mark A. Fisher page could be nominated for deletion following the result of the 2010 discussion, but I can't verify how similar or different the page is from the 2010 version. In addition, my knowledge of the correct procedures is a bit limited. Since you were involved in the deletion of the previous version, I would like to get some advice on this. Greetings Rwos! The current article on Mark A. Fischer is vastly different than the one deleted in 2010. However, the article still must provide evidence, through reliable secondary sources, that the subject meets the notability criteria for people, irrespective of any past deletion discussions. To my estimation, the current article demonstrates sufficient notability, although perhaps it has a promotional air about it. This can be addressed through editing, however, whereas notability is more intrinsic. All this must be taken in light of the sockpuppet investigation, however, of which I am unfamiliar with. Hello, you recently restored the Notability issues banner on the Angos (Constructed Language) page. The language does have a notable secondary source which mentions the language in substantial academic detail. Wikipedia, to my knowledge, does not have a standardized method for establishing notability among constructed languages, other than simply providing a third-party source that describes the language. Hi Arbitrarily,

Not sure if you remember, but back in 2010 I tried to keep my Wikipedia article up and running at Wikipedia. To no avail, despite your help! Well, in the interim, I have put up this article, with some additions, in two other places which you can see below at the links. I wonder if things would be more propitious now at Wikipedia—to try again—or not.

Greetings Peter. The important criteria for establishing notability is the existence of multiple, secondary sources which discuss the subject. Have such been generated? Now, in the event that you are the Peter Nicholson in question, for neutrality reasons it is usually best if one avoids making an article about themselves (see Wikipedia:Conflict of interest). Brandon Berrey (born December 21, 1978) in Montgomery, Alabama, is an Artist, Illustrator and Poet. He embodies the spirit of art in the South. He graduated from Troy University in Advertising and Graphic Design, and became one of seven Southeast art students to study abroad with the Nature Art and Life League in France under Nall Hollis who studied under Salvador Dali. He was also a member of Sigma Alpha Epsilon Fraternity.

In that same year, Brandon founded the Fallen Heroes Foundation after September 11, 2001 to raise money for the fire fighters families after the tragedy. In fact, one of his paintings created in honor of the firefighters was reproduced as a poster and sold by the Alabama Red Cross and featured on CNN memorial footage. Brandon later opened Berrey Art and Design, and began his work as Artist and Illustrator for the Alabama Department of Conservation and Natural Resources. Brandon culls a great deal of his inspiration from his father, Bucky Berrey, a renowned place kicker under “Bear” Bryant who went on to sign with the Atlanta Falcons. Now, along with running his own art business and exploring the outdoors through his work with the Conservation Department, Brandon is also an avid kayaker, canoer, and all around outdoorsman, even teaching a hiking class for women called “Becoming an Outdoors-Woman.” He also writes, with his poetry nationally published and awarded. Brandon has overcome the stigma of starving artist and gone on to contribute his art and dedication to the great outdoors worldwide.
