I noticed that one of the first articles you created or edited appears to be an article about yourself. Creating an autobiography is a common mistake made by new Wikipedians—as this is an encyclopedia, we wouldn't expect to have an article about every contributor. The article Basit Riaz Sheikh has been proposed for deletion because it appears to have no references. Hello Crefett, I added references as per your last message, but now the page has been marked for speedy deletion. All the references are from reliable sources, so I am surprised by you action. Is it because the page seems more like a self projection? Could you give me a suggestion on how to fix it?

There are two problems that must be overcome. The promotional aspect of the article is sufficient to get it deleted, if an admin agrees with the nomination. But if not deleted for that reason, the next step will likely be WP:articles for deletion where your notability will be discussed. These discussions are often pretty hard on people who have contributed an WP:autobiography. But if you can show notability according to Wikipedia's special notion of that word, you can make that argument and improve the article with appropriate references. — jmcgnh^{(talk) (contribs)} 21:21, 16 April 2020 (UTC)[reply]
