User talk:Espresso Addict/archive5Note: This is an archive of past discussions. Current discussions are at User talk:Espresso Addict Cheshire Portal, etcThanks for all the excellent work you are doing with the portal, particularly in keeping it up to date. I see that Runcorn (my home town) features well this month. You may have noted that, having ensured that all the Cheshire Grade I and II* listed churches have articles, I have been working through the other Grade I listed buildings in Cheshire. I may have sometimes strayed into your territory (geographically), so please correct/expand anything you know about in your area. It would be good to have at least a stub on Crown Inn, Nantwich, and as you have the necessary info, wonder if you wold like to have a go at it, when convenient. And while we're at it, why don't you go for featured list for Listed buildings in Nantwich, Cheshire? The Greater Manchester Project has succeeded in getting quite a number of lists featured and I think the Nantwich one is as good as most of them and better than some. Best wishes. Peter I. Anglicanism portalPlease act in good faith and either reverse you opposition or offer specific specifications for a support. An editor has proposed a word count, please comment on it. Your opposition on the basis that the summaries are "too long" is unhelpful and, according to policy, we all may ignore it in this discussion. I hope to read your opinion on this matter soon. Much appreciated. As for the Gabbe article, it has been quite an eye-opening experience! Nevertheless, it appears the article's most vocal critic (and, actually, personal critic) is qworty, who seems to have a history of using inflammatory language within his capacity as an admin. All others who have weighed in on the talk page have voted to "keep" the Gabbe page...some have even tried to defend my fragile self from qworty's comments ;) All the best, and thanks again. -- Nafeh9 (talk) 17:31, 8 April 2008 (UTC) Deleted ArticleOn February 1, 2008, the article entitled Gameplasma was deleted. As you are one of the admins on the list for getting the text for review, I was wondering if there was a way I could see the article because I think that either it was wrongly deleted, or I can fix it to make it acceptable. I'm not quite sure what I should do as far as this matter is concerned, so I figured I would just ask you. Awaiting reply, --GPJCollins (talk) 19:05, 10 April 2008 (UTC) I appreciate the help. The part I am confused about is that the "copyrighted" material was posted on Wikipedia by the same guy who created it on the Gameplasma website. Therefore the copyright infringement wasn't copyright infringement after all. But I will do what you suggested and try to get it back up. Again, I appreciate the help. QuestionI see you're editing the T:TDYK page, so I figured you'd know the answer to this question. If I work on an article in my sandbox and when it's finished, move it to the mainspace, is it still eligible for DYK because the edit history now shows the article being over 5 days old? Thanks. Thank youI've read your intervention about the deletion of the article "Pier Augusto Gemignani". I was the creator of that page, and I think the deletion was inappropriate, since Gemignani's works were quite important for the History of Medecine and the voyage of Columbus. I don't think I will redo the article again, since I have some references in italian scientific magazines, but none of them has a website or something, so I guess the staff won't like the article to be rebuilt, but I wanted anyway to thank you for your support.--Gimmy (talk) 13:09, 23 April 2008 (UTC) Grade I listed buildings in CheshireThanks for your additions to this list. Conclusion: Image placeholders centralized discussion![]() Hi. I'm sending this to you because you participated in the Centralized discussion on image placeholders that ended on 23 April. That discussion must produce a conclusion. We originally asked "Should the addition of this box [example right] be allowed? Does the placeholder system and graphic image need to be improved to satisfy policies and guidelines for inclusion? Is it appropriate to some kinds of biographies, but not to others?" (See introduction). Conclusions to centralized discussions are either marked as 'policy', 'guideline', 'endorsed', 'rejected', 'no consensus', or 'no change' etc. We should now decide for this discussion. Please read and approve or disapprove the section here: Conclusion --Kleinzach (talk) 10:53, 30 April 2008 (UTC) Please note this message conforms to WP:CANVASSING and has not been sent to anyone has not already participated in the centralized discussion. I was a child, but remember Lestor well (tall and skinny to little me; he told me he flew for the French in WWI); he got irked at his sweet wife frequently, like when she gave me her son's reserve Navy officer uniforms to "play sailor" in, as the son wasn't useing them anymore. Long later, when I was a youth in N.C., three times dad explained the Germer experiment; but I could not grasp it. I'd like to read a biography book on Dr. Germer; is there one? One snowy day; dad, Dr. Germer, Dr. Shockley, and one or two other Germer Bell Labs friends, tried to ski on the Van Dyne farm behind our home. But the skiing physics didn't permit them, so they made a camp fire, made coffee, and chatted. A child knowing not to speak before adults, I sensed a respected talking order with Shockley at top (perhaps also from assertiveness) and Dr. Germer almost next (also assertive). Dad at the bottom talking order, mentioned (men in white coats is all I remember of them) in New York City said my learning problems came from polyps in my ears, and their massive x-ray radiation treatment should cure it. Loudly, assertively, Dr. Shockley said "I forbid that"; if dad let them (those quacks?) do that, I'd be an idiot in a mental hospital the rest of my life. I would not be able to (poorly) write this today except for Dr. Shockley forcefully "forbidding it"; and Germer and Shockley, with others; helping to make the computor transister possible. Feel free to erase; especially if a Germer Biography book title/author, is in it's place. Jim Miller, Southport, N.C.James A. I don't have access right now to the Oxford DNB, but none of the facts in the two sentences between the reference to note 4 and note 1/5 can be properly based on the brief paragraph by a photographer--that's not reliable, in my opinion.
