Question on Crutchfield Corporation pageHello! COI: I'm a writer at Crutchfield. I'd like help/guidance for removing the flags at the top of the page, so accurate information about Crutchfield doesn't look questionable. The citations above can verify information currently credited to the company website. Here are some specifics: References #1, 2, and 3 can be verified by these news stories: " 50 years in business: Crutchfield has made it half a century without any debt or a single layoff" — Daily Progress https://dailyprogress.com/news/local/business/article_c79268ba-d341-11ee-91ed-2bfdba969b67.html#tracking-source=in-article "Sales in 1974 totaled just $6,084. Fifty years later, Crutchfield Corporation has just wrapped the 2023 fiscal year with $436 million in sales. Over the same period, the business has grown from an office of one to a corporation of 675, with locations throughout Virginia and into Canada, where the company expanded in 2007." "Crutchfield Corporation celebrates 50 years and is recognized by the General Assembly" — CBS 19 News "It first operated out of his mother's basement, but over time, he established its new headquarters, diversified its inventory, and reinforced the core values, watching the company grow from one employee to more than 650. 'I don't think it's necessarily what we sell, but I think it's the way we behave. We have a wonderful group of employees; we've never had a layoff in 50 years,' Crutchfield said. During Wednesday's event, [Virginia] State Senator Creigh Deeds presented a bipartisan resolution that expresses the General Assembly's admiration for the company's contributions to Virginia." In an ideal world, I'd like to see the credit that Bill Crutchfield has gotten as an innovator, and the excellence of the company. (The history and awards sections were removed and/or scaled down.) But it is reflected in the sources above, along with bipartisan Virginia Senate Joint Resolution # 216: https://legacylis.virginia.gov/cgi-bin/legp604.exe?241+ful+SJ216 But I want to be respectful of the Wikipedia process, so I'm trying to be informative without overstepping. Possible BattyBot checkJust a curiosity based on this edit BattyBot did. Nothing wrong with what it did, I just see something that could be improved due it interacting with human error circumstances. Would it be possible for the bot to look ahead on external links that it is adding a bullet to, and IF there's a navbox template (improperly) following the external link on the same line, drop that template down to a new line away from the newly bulleted external link? Navboxes can't be on bulleted lines and trigger a Multiline HTML table in list error in those events. The Bot's edit was correct in the actions it was doing, but the Ali Khamenei navbox in the example above should have been on a new line by itself, and the bot walked into this MHTIL error scenario. While I'm not seeing this error occur with any known frequency from Battybot, seeing this example made me wonder if this was a simple check to add to BattyBot to prevent this error from occurring. If this isn't something easy to check or do, no worries, thought it was worth asking about. Cheers, Zinnober9 (talk) 05:19, 29 July 2025 (UTC)
Question from BarnThorn (12:00, 31 July 2025)Hi I wanted to add my Grandad as a Birkdale Lancs notable but can't cos nowhere else on Wiki. He was a musician at the Royal College of Music and I have his Birkdale address on his ARCM certificate dated April 1920. If there is no record of him I should quite like to offer one. He played harpsichord continuo in London at the Albert Hall on a number of occasions and was a survivor of the Great War like the composer Vaughan Williams whom he knew. They both took part in a recital in memory of the fallen from the Royal College of Music, VW having been a stretcher bearer and Charles Thornton Lofthouse having been discharged with a head wound from the Hebuternes area in 1918 before the Arnistice. --BarnThorn (talk) 12:00, 31 July 2025 (UTC)
misplaced BattyBot's category?Hello GoingBatty. I noticed that BattyBot's userpage is in the template cleanup category which should only contain subcategories. Is this by mistake, or you intend to link to that category but forgot to type the colon? It's caused by line 570 of the userpage's code. Xzkdeng (talk) 05:58, 6 August 2025 (UTC) Question from Don R Peters (06:28, 6 August 2025)Hello, I've written up (using Microsoft Word) a lengthy (about 30 pages, with photos) article on the history Sky Haven Airport which used to exist in Brookfield, Wisconsin. It was run by my dad, Burney Peters, who passed away over 30 years ago. I'm his son, so know most about the history of this airport. I'd like to make this history available to the public. Is Wikipedia a good tool to do this? --Don R Peters (talk) 06:28, 6 August 2025 (UTC) |
