Thanks for the star! I'm glad you are enjoying contributing to Wikipedia. I found all the information that I added by simply googling her name. A few suggestions:

1. Use a stub tag to identify new stubs, such as {{musical-theat-stub}}.

2. Add a project tag to the new article's talk page. Just cut and paste one from another article.

3. You can get categories just by cutting and pasting them from a similar article. For Sayre, I just went To Kristen Chenoweth's page and selected a few of her categories, since they're both singers and actresses.

This user constantly vandalizes wikipiedia. He was giving a final warning and vandalized the same page minutes later. I saw that you have warned him before so I was hoping you will block him.--JDDJS (talk) 21:17, 10 May 2010 (UTC)

Well, he won't be vandalizing anytime soon for now, as i blocked him for a week (And seeing his edits, i presume it is a static IP). However, for these kind of cases you should normally create a report at WP:AIAV, the centralized page for reporting vandalism. The amount of admins watching this page is a lot higher then the amount on my talk page and therefor such reports tend to be actioned a lot sooner - if i would be sleeping no one might have seen the report in hours.

Regardless, thanks for reporting him. As you appear to be a new account allow me to give you some advice as well. First and foremost you may want to consider using specialized tools if you plan to spend a reasonable amount of time on a certain activity. Since you marked yourself as a vandalism patrol you might want to consider Twinkle, which allows you to place one-click warnings, among other features. Another action worth considering - if you have spend some more time patrolling - is requesting the rollback privilege which allows you to revert all edits made by a single user with just one mouseclick - as opposed to undoing which requires multiple clicks while only undoing one edit at a time.

Rollback is also the prerequisite for using most of the popular vandalism patrol tools such as Huggle. Due to their speed and the damage they could cause if used incorrectly they require this privilege which will be granted on request, provided that your edits indicate that your judgment regarding vandalism is sound. These tools allow for much faster and convenient patrol then manually monitoring the recent changes list does. Again, welcome. And if you would have questions don't hesitate to ask them. Thank you for blocking him and the advice. The reason I asked you directly is because the last time I reported an IP address, it took for ever to go throw. By the time they were done, somebody else already blocked him for other vandalizme. This IP Address seemed determined to vandalize the Quebec City article having vandalizing it after it was reverted. Well, there is no set quota a user has to reach. A user has to demonstrate that he or she is serious about doing some vandalism patrol (EG: editors who only reverted twice in two years don't exactly qualify), while also providing enough edits to allow the evaluating sysop to check if the user in question can use the tool responsibly. But as an indication, a hundred or more reverts combined with 400-500 total edits should be more then sufficient in most cases. Excirial ^{(Contact me,Contribs)} 22:31, 10 May 2010 (UTC)

I recently saw your request for adminship on The Test Wiki. In order for it to be approved, you have to edit your userpage to say something like "I am also JDDJS at The Test Wiki". Yes, I made this edit last month, but I don't vandalized this page. Look on Google and search for: "Robert Pattinson as James Bond". In fact, Robert Pattinson wants to play the role of James Bond, but he has been rejects because he is dirty and for others reason. So, I think he was put in the right categories. And also, I don't understand why you say that I vandalized the page ... there was a source for this actor!

Yes, you can restore the original, but it is better to be careful before using the rollback tool. I try to make sure that something is a real error before I delete or undo it. I have been a rollbacker for a long time, but I very rarely use rollback. I mostly only use it when I am dealing with a vandalism-only account. The Super Mario Wiki is a separate wiki that has nothing to do with Wikipedia. However, you can see at the bottom of Super Mario Wiki's page that its content is available under the Creative Commons Attribution-ShareAlike 3.0 Unported license, which means that you can copy and modify it, but you must attribute the work to the original source. The best way to do that is to add a link to the original page on the Super Mario Wiki in the edit summary when you add the content. Please let me know if there are any more questions. I'd just like to echo what Tiptoety said at PERM/R- please be careful. Only use rollback where you would currently use Twinkle's big red vandalism button. For everything else, use the big green AGF button or the undo button. Also, bear in mind the utter mess that can be made by some of the scripts rollback gives you access to. Well I often use level 2 on blatant vandalism because it just gives them too many chances when I use level 1. I do use level 1 when it's not inappropriate, offensive, or attacks. I only use level 4 as the first in extreme cases. This is just my policy for IP users. It depends on what you intend. If it's specific to a particular deletion process then you might want to start on a particular processes' talk page, such as WT:CSD, WT:AfD, WT:PROD, WT:IFD and so on. If it's about a particular basis for deletion, you might want to start the discussion on the concept's talk page, such as WT:N. If it's more generally about the policy on deletion as a whole, you probably want to go to the policy section of the Village Pump, or if it's a specific proposal regarding deletion mechanics, your best bet is the proposals section of the Village Pump. This has been discussed before—quite a few times, though it would be difficult to find all the instances. However, I recall a recent discussion and have located it. See Wikipedia:Village pump (policy)/Archive 63#the time between AfD nominations for an article. Hello, I want to apologize for accidentally copying your signature, I copies the format of your post and forgot to change the signature. I had fun playing with your page. You now have the second nicest user page on Wikipedia (according to my screen anyways) and I've looked at many hundreds.

If you like the page like that, you can start putting the userboxes in the order that you like. Maybe wiki related at top and personal stuff in the second and third areas, the rest bury in the collapsed part. As your text increases or decreases you'll have to change the number of userboxes to keep the layout nice. It's up to you but you might want to remove the invitation for others to edit.

I've tried many things and just can't figure out how to make the userboxes at the bottom work - wierd! You'll figure it out - meanwhile I just swept it under the collapsable "Userboxes Need Fixing" carpet. Slightsmile (talk) 18:02, 9 November 2010 (UTC)

I have been editing List of Phineas and Ferb characters for awhile now. I have cut out many of the minor characters. Then a user undoes all of my edits. Now I simply reverted it back and explained on his talk page that he/she shouldn't do things like that. I was curious if he just rolled it backed so I at the history of the page and found the version he/she restored it too. It was 117 revisions and almost a month ago. Is it possible to revert something that far back? Or must've it been simply a copy and paste edit? --JDDJS (talk) 22:27, 10 November 2010 (UTC)

Wiki's store all past revions of a page, so opening an old revision will show the content at that exact date. If the content is saved afterwards, it will effectively create a new version that is identical to the old one that was opened (Thus it is practically possible to retrieve and save any old edit in the history). Yes it is possible. It can be done manually or with twinkle if you do the "restore this version" function. If a user edited a page 117 times after another user did and someone used rollback it would revert all 117 versions as long as they are from the same user. Inka⁸⁸⁸ 22:55, 10 November 2010 (UTC)

There isn't a bot for adding random edits. You could use the sandbox, but what works for 5 edits will work for 500, and vice versa. --Stephen 02:16, 11 November 2010 (UTC)

Thanks for your reports at Wikipedia:Administrator intervention against vandalism. However, you should normally only report after a vandal has had at least a few warnings, and has continued to vandalise. Administrators will not normally take action on someone who has made only one or two edits, and been warned only once or not at all, except in really extreme cases (such as serious libel). Why not? There not IP addresses. When an editors first edits are vandalism, there is basically no chance they'll make good faith edits in the future. When blocking accounts you're only blocking the one vandal and not IP addresses which might include good faith editors. JDDJS (talk) 22:08, 1 December 2010 (UTC)

Most often what you say is true, and I think I am more willing to block after a minimal amount of editing than many admins, provided that minimal amount is all or nearly all vandalism. However, we do get some editors who start off sort of trying out Wikipedia editing by playing around, and later settle down to become constructive editors. It is in fact surprisingly common for someone to do a few vandalism edits and then to stop when they get a message telling them to. However, if someone makes a silly childish edit, gets a fairly mild note asking them to stop, does the same again, gets a sterner warning that they will be blocked if they carry on, and then does the same again, I think we are getting to the stage of saying "enough is enough". I certainly don't take the view, which many Wikipedians do, that a vandal always has to go through a level one warning, then levels two, three, four, and can only be blocked if they vandalise a fifth time. It's also important to recognize the difference between constructive edits, vandalism, and well-intentioned edits that are failing to hit the mark. Before one can warn, especially vandal warn, a new contributor, one must have a clear understanding of WP:CSD. One should also recognize that well-intentioned new users make mistakes. They need to be educated and given every opportunity to learn. The warning process is part of the coaching/education process. We lose nothing by giving new users that opportunity to learn. Misuse of CSD warnings is even more damaging to the project that mistakenly creating a FaceBook entry on Wikipedia, or a joke page, or a glaring display of ignorance. The admin WhisperToMe (talk) is adament about adding sections about the possible homosexuality of the cartoon characters below. These sections are all based on the opinions of one man, JP Dennis, in one paper he wrote. Dennis is a gay man himself who seems to write exclusively about gay issues, so in my opinion, it's not surprising that he sees homosexuality where there is none. Also, there are already complete articles regarding this topic (LGBT themes in comics, LGBT themes in speculative fiction). If you believe these sections would place undue weight on this topic (which I believe is a non-issue), please comment on the talk pages below, otherwise WhisperToMe will add these sections back. You know, I have a crazy idea. I wonder how Joe Murray would respond to the Dennis article's claims about one of his characters (Heffer).

He has a blog and a personal website. I could e-mail him and ask him what he thinks about the comments, and maybe send the article to him so he can look at it. Then Murray could write a blog post with his response. It can help establish the "mainstream view" and it could answer the question whether, in the case of Heffer Wolfe specifically, Dennis's comments are fringe. Hello, Although an AfD was started for this article in the past, the article was speedy deleted in the first few hours of the AfD. CSD G4 only applies where the page was previously deleted as the outcome of a deletion discussion - that's not the case here.

I'm not sure if the article would survive a full AfD, or even how I'd vote on it if it went there, but neither G4 nor A7 applies to the current article.

Hey! I found two sources about supposed hidden meanings from Scooby Doo articles - One from Newsweek, one from the Philly Enquirer. Wikipedia:WikiProject_Resource_Exchange/Resource_Request#Scooby_Doo_articles_in_newsweek_and_Philly_Enquirer - I opened resource requests for both so I can get the full articles. So once they are posted, if you want, download them.

From the Google News previews, both refer to fan rumors that Daphne and Freddy are in a relationship and that Velma likes girls. I'll see if I can find more about this, but the good news is that it means that this content could save all of the Scooby Doo character articles from being merged.   • I got the full Philly article too. Not only was there speculation, but the makers of the Scooby Doo originally put in references making fun of the rumors of Velma being gay - the article states that there was a scene where Velma and Daphne kiss. That scene was taken out of the movie.
  • Also the article states "Screenwriter James Gunn, though, said he's "pretty sure she's gay."" while Cardellini (actress who portrayed Velma in films) stated that she didn't believe she was.
  • So, now we do have the refs to put in rumors of Velma being gay.

You don't need to delete a PROD template before requesting a speedy deletion, as you did with Everybody edits. By leaving it in place, even if a speedy is declined for a technical reason (as is likely in this case, as a computer game is not one of the categories for the speedy delete option you used), the PROD can continue. By deleting the prod, you make it look as though someone objected to the PROD, which is all it takes to kill a PROD. --Nat Gertler (talk) 22:33, 5 January 2011 (UTC)

In general, a screenshot of the character in the infobox of the article about the character should be considered acceptable, unless there are specific special reasons for believing that it may be possible to get a free image of the actor in character.

Nathan Lowell *is* notable, and if he "admitted" that he wasn't, he was just being modest. His books have a huge fanbase, he's written at least 8 books already, and if you're holding it against him that he publishes most of his work under the "Creative Commons" license that Wikipedia itself uses, well, thats just wrong...

So, I made an edit on the Mel Brooks page and you reported it as vandalism. This doesn't made me mad, but I wasn't trying to vandalize the page. If you still remember who I am, can you please tell me what I did for it to be considered vandalism so I can avoid it in the future. I'm guessing that you're criticising me for adding in "history". I must admit that was my mistake, for "history" was the wrong word to use. I've taken your 'nonsense' tag off, as it isn't gibberish but is Malay of one sort or another. (A good way of spotting when apparent Gibberish is in fact Foreign is to drop a lump of the text into Google without quotes. If it comes up as a lump in a site as a result, you've got a copyvio. Randy Rayon wasn't nonsense either - it was a malformed infobox. As it appeared to be about a non-notable subject, I deleted under A7. Watch out for 'nonsense' - it's really for 'gftyxtviuuy' or 'grift the embryonic suitcase lest balloon sprague intern' and such. Google is OK for rough translations of Indo-European languages, Finnish and Magyar. Arabic isn't too bad, but the further East you go, the worse it gets. 'Nonsense' doesn't apply to Foreign, and this might be poetry - which is impossible to machine translate meaningfully... (It's hard enough to understand some in English.) It's a userpage. You can get them for attack, copyvio and spam. Nothing much else. (edit conflict) Another example is a poem I encountered on a sign in France recently. The word 'versé' had been translated as 'paid'. OK. It can mean that - when money is the thing versé'd. Here it was 'sang' - blood. I retranslated to 'shed' and made a couple of other small changes. I've declined your speedy, as its a sport not a group - just as companies are liable to A7 but products aren't. I've put a somewhat stinging prod on it - you may feel like doing a prod2 - or may not. Sorry, you can't get that under A7. It's not got people in it, and it's not specific web content. Most of A7 is people based - people, clubs, companies, Churches (but not churches which are buildings), but not schools. Software companies can be A7ed, but not a specific product. I declined your speedy deletion request of Belles Will Ring. In the article, they claimed to have received critical acclaim; there was even a review from a major Australian newspaper to verify that claim. That is a claim of significance sufficient to pass WP:CSD#A7. I see that a number of other editors above have declined your speedy deletions, or converted them to prods; I recommend that you review the criteria to be sure that the articles you're tagging actually meet them. Remember, A7 in particular is often misunderstood--the bar is far, far lower than is needed to pass an AfD (that is, an article subject doesn't have to be notable to pass A7, merely have a credible claim of significance or importance). Mainly because they had actually been signed, but other statements helped as well, I do think a credible claim of notability was made. I notice a couple other editors have pointed out a few mistakes you've made with CSD and I's like to say too things. First, everyone makes mistakes. You should have seen me when I first starting getting involved at AfD....absolutely awful. Second, try to go in with the attitude that the benefit of the doubt should always go to the article. Thanks for the advice, but I'm going to keep on editing the way I do because while I have made some mistakes with CSD, most of the pages I tag do end up getting speedy deleted, just sometimes for other reasons than the ones I tagged it for. The ones that don't get speedy deleted end up deleted in another way. Very few pages I tag with CSD end up staying. If it came to the point where more articles I tagged with CSD were kept then deleted (or even if they come close in numbers) than I would rethink the way I edit. Well, looking at your talk and archive, I'm don't think that's the best attitude. Not only is New Page Patrol not a numbers game, but you're making some mistakes you probably should be past after months of tagging. Remember that being too hasty at NPP is one of the main reasons that Wikipedians are seen as being WP:BITEY, and the accidental deletion of one good article can be just as bad as the deletion of many bad ones can be good, if that makes sense. I highly encourage you to try to study CSD a bit more, and maybe even ask an experienced editor to give you pointers (not me, but I know of some who might be willing). (talk page stalker) Please note that I don't know your "success" rate on CSD, but I have seen (often at RfA, but also at WP:ANI) that while it's fine to Prod or AfD things that aren't kept, if you're regularly new page patrolling, you should have a accuracy rating on CSD upwards of 95%. There is a huge huge loss if you mistakenly CSD something, because doing so stands a very high chance of significant demoralizing new contributors. I'm not saying you should stop CSD tagging, but, as Nolelover has said, take some time to review the standards. The whole idea of CSD is that it is only for articles that so obviously and completely fail to be acceptable articles that we don't need to take time to have a community discussion about it. That's why A7 is so very strictly limited. When I first started CSD tagging, I was also surprised that so many articles basically can't be CSD tagged (for example, an article about a new word, or novel physics theory, or a comparison of two different products, etc. don't fall under any CSD category, unless they're copyvios or hoaxes); being non-notable, or original research is not sufficient to be tagged for CSD. One good way I saw it put recently is that the way the process is designed, the normal process is to require community discussion of deletion, and CSD is a special exception created to save unnecessary work on the most obvious cases. In fact, just recently there were two pages that previously CSD, but instead I tagged one for BLP PROD and another with just maintenance. I'm not going to stop CSD, but I'll think twice about it.
