Cultural Properties of JapanHi! It seems that you are interested in Cultural Properties of Japan. A while ago I kicked off this little project and together with User:Urashimataro started to create articles found in Template:Cultural Properties of Japan (still needs some work). I'd be very happy if you decided to help with it. There are lots of open tasks, such as creating articles on some of the more interesting cultural properties, finding/uploading/adding pictures of cultural properties, completing lists of cultural properties, keeping lists and articles up to date (new nominations...). I am currently adding some prose to List of National Treasures of Japan (writings: books) in order to nominate it at WP:FLC and am slowly adding to List of Important Intangible Folk Cultural Properties (help appreciated). bamse (talk) 22:14, 28 April 2011 (UTC)

FileImporterHi! I noticed that you moved a few photos from ja.wiki to Commons. Have you tried FileImporter? That's a great way to move files. It moved the file history and I think it is much better than the other tools. You can use it by adding it from Special:Preferences#mw-prefsection-betafeatures on the wiki you wanna move files from. And you can read more about it at this site. It is possible to set up FileImporter so that almost no cleanup is needed after the file have been moved to Commons. --MGA73 (talk) 09:03, 22 July 2020 (UTC)

Cas Liber (talk · contribs) 00:02, 4 June 2021 (UTC) Answering your question from Wikipedia talk:WikiProject MammalsFor sure @Maculosae tegmine lyncis:, i'll answer good and clear. Readers may in any way benefit from being deprived deprived of potentially interesting information about Japanese tigers or Israeli hippos mostly because when readers first have no idea that Hippos actually existed in the levant during the Iron Age, they'll be so surprised that hippos were not always confined to the African continent. The climate in the levant back then was much more humid than it is today, which in turn the environment there would have resembled of what we see in the African Serengeti, now one thing is clear while hippos are more often associated with Africa today, this has not been entirely the case they were once widespread across the African continent, the levant, and Europe but due to glacial shifts, they quickly disappeared in Europe and became restricted to the African continent and the middle east until they became extinct in the middle east in the Iron Age. Now for the Tigers former presence in Japan, when people of tigers they think of them as being only found in South and East Asia as well as the Russian far east but excluding japan at present, the reason why tigers were present in Japan was because when glaciers were shifting from one place to another, Japan back then was connected to the Asian mainland before it lost it's land connections with the mainland and the climate plus environment made it suitable place for the tigers to inhabit there, but by the time glaciers were retreating northwards, sea levels were slowly rising up, climate change, prey decreasing, and possibly habitat change, the tiger could not bare with the change that was happening in Japan and soon became extinct there. Hope that answered your question correctly. -- Animalworlds314 (talk) 22:17, 5 June 2021 (UTC) DYK for Ezo chipmunkOn 26 July 2021, Did you know was updated with a fact from the article Ezo chipmunk, which you recently created, substantially expanded, or brought to good article status. However, there is another artwork that looks almost the same. It is called 「琉球進貢船図屏風」京都大学総合博物館蔵 ((Ryukyu Tribute Ship Folding Screen), Kyoto University Museum. So there are 3 versions which are similar, one in Kyoto University, Shiga University and Urasoe Museum. See this PDF file with 2 other versions. Are all these 3 cultural properties?
