Vandal proposal of a trucePlease see [1]. I don't know what to make of it. And, in any event, it is up to ArbCom to decide, isn't it? Thanks for any advice you can proffer. MurrayGreshler (talk) 03:22, 7 December 2022 (UTC)
Ok. Also, "coincidentally", they offered terms after they started reverting my most recent edits but got caught very quickly by a third party. Coincidence, no doubt. MurrayGreshler (talk) 03:58, 7 December 2022 (UTC)
Reverting edits unfairlyI made some edits that were intended to make the tone of an article more neutral and you reverted them and claimed they were vandalism as well as threatening a suspension of my editing permissions, they were not vandalism. Next time please at least look at what was changed before declaring it vandalism. Bean guy2 (talk) 10:35, 7 December 2022 (UTC)
AIV reportsHi! Thanks for your reports to WP:AIV today. I just wanted to let you know that if a user has only made one edit, or they have received a warning and haven't edited since, they're unlikely to get blocked. We generally only block if there's a clear sign that the user isn't stopping. Edits like those made by Hackinghobbs, for example, could be test edits and the user might go on to make productive contributions. Sam Walton (talk) 10:05, 7 December 2022 (UTC)
CSD U5sHello, Someone who's wrong on the internet, Please do not be so quick to tag User pages as CSD G5 for speedy deletion. Most of your taggings were fine but editors are allowed to have a certain amount of personal information on their User page as long as it is not promotional so I did untag a few that I thought were just fine for a User page. Also, some new editors use their main User page to start drafts so consider moving pages that are obviously drafts to Draft space rather than tagging them for deletion. I noticed most of the editors whose sandboxes you tagged were very new editors so I was glad to see you left a Welcome message for them along with the CSD notice. Thank you for your work! Liz Read! Talk! 08:41, 16 December 2022 (UTC)
Screaming into the voidI think it's generally better to ignore dumb stuff blocked vandals say in their talk pages, as screaming into the void with no one listening is the opposite of what they want, which is attention. If the talk page messages were similar to the mainspace vandalism I would have reverted and pulled TPA, but what they were doing was about as minimally disruptive as it could be. Missing Detective's Family & FriendsIn my earlier post I stated that "Joe Podo" had passed and was away from the scene. This week at only 22 years old Joe passed away. There are still so many unanswered questions. Joe always went by "Joe Podo" and he was only 22 years old. His cousin has shared this:In a short amount of time, my cousin John, (Joe's cousin) has become my rock. I have looked up to him and wanted to be just like him. He made me feel so comfortable around him. I love you John! Hopefully he will give me some answers to these questions. ComplexApe (talk) 01:39, 5 March 2023 (UTC) Re username blockFirst of all, although you and I both have longer than average usernames, ours aren't even half the length of the one in question. The general rule is over 40 characters is pretty much always considered disruptively long. I opted to just block because, on top of the username; the two edits I saw didn't give me much confidence this was someone who was here to build an encyclopedia; brand new editors don't normally screw around with categories and the dates on maintenance tags. Speedy deletion nomination of Category:Terrorism in 2021![]() A tag has been placed on Category:Terrorism in 2021 indicating that it is currently empty, and is not a disambiguation category, a category redirect, a featured topics category, under discussion at Categories for discussion, or a project category that by its nature may become empty on occasion. If it remains empty for seven days or more, it may be deleted under section C1 of the criteria for speedy deletion. If you think this page should not be deleted for this reason you may contest the nomination by visiting the page and clicking the button labelled "Contest this speedy deletion". This will give you the opportunity to explain why you believe the page should not be deleted. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag from the page yourself. Liz Read! ShrekishitsugardaddyHello, I've noticed that a lot of your AIV reports have been premature. As a general rule, we won't block somebody for their first edit ever, nor when they've been given a warning and haven't edited since. There are, of course, exceptions, as with any rule, but it usually has to be particularly egregious (like hate speech or shameless commercial spam). In this particular case, your G3 tag was inappropriate for a user page that was, at worst, a little bit silly, and there were absolutely no grounds for a block, so I declined your AIV report. Please be more careful in future, and please be mindful when dealing with new editors that they may do things that look strange or silly to us but may not be malicious at all. Thank you, HJ Mitchell | Penny for your thoughts? 12:27, 18 February 2023 (UTC)

Rollback granted

Hi Someone who's wrong on the internet. After reviewing your request, I have enabled rollback on your account. Please keep the following things in mind while using rollback:
- Being granted rollback is no more momentous than installing Twinkle or Ultraviolet. It just adds a [Rollback] button next to a page's latest live revision - that's all. It does not grant you any additional "status" on Wikipedia, nor does it change how Wikipedia policies apply to you.
- Rollback should be used to revert clear and unambiguous cases of vandalism only. Never use rollback to revert good faith edits.
- Rollback should never be used to edit war, and it should never be used in a content-related dispute to restore the page to your preferred revision. If rollback is abused or used for this purpose or any other inappropriate purpose, the rights will be revoked.
- Use common sense. If you're not sure about something, ask!
If you no longer want rollback, contact me and I'll remove it. Also, for some more information on how to use rollback, see Wikipedia:Administrators' guide/Rollback (even though you're not an admin). I'm sure you'll do great with rollback, but feel free to leave me a message on my talk page if you run into trouble or have any questions about appropriate/inappropriate use of rollback. Thank you for helping to reduce vandalism. Happy editing! — Red-tailed hawk (nest) 06:35, 11 February 2024 (UTC)

Thanks for uploading File:Chrystul Kizer Mugshot.jpg. The image description page currently specifies that the image is non-free and may only be used on Wikipedia under a claim of fair use. However, the image is currently not used in any articles on Wikipedia. If the image was previously in an article, please go to the article and see why it was removed. You may add it back if you think that that will be useful. However, please note that images for which a replacement could be created are not acceptable for use on Wikipedia (see our policy for non-free media).
Note that any non-free images not used in any articles will be deleted after seven days, as described in section F5 of the criteria for speedy deletion. Thank you. --B-bot (talk) 18:09, 11 February 2024 (UTC)

Reversions
As a heads up, I think User:Pp0592 appears to be reverting IP vandalism, and looks like then your revert of that editor here (and elsewhere) was in error, although it's unclear why the IP then reverted you to bring the changes back to their original format? Kinda strange, but at the very least doesn't look like the edits from Pp0592 appear to be clear vandalism. Best, SpencerT•C 07:30, 7 March 2024 (UTC)

Daily Mail reference at Concerns and controversies at the 2024 Summer Olympics
Hi. Please do not use the Daily Mail as you did at Concerns and controversies at the 2024 Summer Olympics. It is not a reliable source. See WP:DAILYMAIL. Kind regards, Robby.is.on (talk) 01:06, 4 February 2025 (UTC)

- I was retargeting references to Microsoft Start to point to the underlying news site rather than Microsoft's news aggregator. Apparently, one of them was the Daily Mail. Should I simply remove these references on sight going forward? Someone who's wrong on the internet (talk) 15:04, 5 February 2025 (UTC)
- Ah, interesting. Daily Mail references should be either replaced by reliable sources or by a {{citation needed}} tag. Robby.is.on (talk) 17:08, 5 February 2025 (UTC)

Hi to you! I just reverted a couple of edits by an ip number that is believed to be used by a zombie proxy. I saw that you reverted all other edits. Were you just extremely fast, or were you helped by a bot? Was it you who suspected that the ip was used by a zombie proxy? If I notice something like this next time, and you are not around to speed revert, what action can I take? Thank you! Lova Falk (talk) 18:07, 28 February 2025 (UTC)

How do you deal with morons that edit war at AFD? Closing AFDs isn’t vandalism or disruption and a lot of editors do it all the time. So what’s your problem — Preceding unsigned comment added by 2600:1001:B1C4:5C05:C5D9:72D0:D43C:227 (talk) 14:02, 14 March 2025 (UTC)

you have removed my warning
hi,
you have removed my warning to user User talk:Cerium4B. why? 207.96.13.213 (talk) 18:21, 5 March 2025 (UTC)
- Because the edits in question were not vandalism. Someone who's wrong on the internet (talk) 18:31, 5 March 2025 (UTC)
- Sorry to interject, but WP:TPO. Please reply to incorrect warnings instead of reverting them. Anerdw (talk) 05:57, 20 March 2025 (UTC)
- This is also block evasion. Thus, WP:BANREVERT applies. Someone who's wrong on the internet (talk) 11:52, 20 March 2025 (UTC)
