Welcome to Wikipedia. Although everyone is welcome to contribute constructively to the encyclopedia, your addition of one or more external links to the page Namibia has been reverted. Your edit here to Namibia was reverted by an automated bot that attempts to remove links which are discouraged per our external links guideline. The external link(s) you added or changed (https://www.facebook.com/namibiantourism, https://www.facebook.com/groups/localtourismislekker) is/are on my list of links to remove and probably shouldn't be included in Wikipedia. If you were trying to insert an external link that does comply with our policies and guidelines, then please accept my creator's apologies and feel free to undo the bot's revert. However, if the link does not comply with our policies and guidelines, but your edit included other, constructive, changes to the article, feel free to make those changes again without re-adding the link. Please read Wikipedia's external links guideline for more information, and consult my list of frequently-reverted sites. For more information about me, see my FAQ page. Thanks! --XLinkBot (talk) 01:32, 15 August 2021 (UTC)[reply]
Hello, I'm Oshwah. I wanted to let you know that I removed one or more external links you added to Namibia because they seemed inappropriate for an encyclopedia. If you think I made a mistake, or if you have any questions, you can leave me a message on my talk page or take a look at our guidelines about links. Thank you. ~Oshwah~(talk)(contribs)13:34, 18 August 2021 (UTC)[reply]
Please do not add inappropriate external links to Wikipedia, as you did to Tourism in Namibia. Wikipedia is not a collection of links, nor should it be used for advertising or promotion. Inappropriate links include, but are not limited to, links to personal websites, links to websites with which you are affiliated (whether as a link in article text, or a citation in an article), and links that attract visitors to a website or promote a product. See the external links guideline and spam guideline for further explanations. Because Wikipedia uses the nofollow attribute value, its external links are disregarded by most search engines. If you feel the link should be added to the page, please discuss it on the associated talk page rather than re-adding it. Thank you. Perryprog (talk) 21:12, 18 August 2021 (UTC)[reply]
Sorry I meant to respond here but somehow I responded on your page. It is a legal entity in Namibia which is government supported, hence it was added to the list. I am not sure what was wrong with adding it to the list? I am happy to share the official support letter from the Government of Namibia? Soni.nrupesh (talk) 21:24, 18 August 2021 (UTC)[reply]
I'm not sure what you mean by "government supported", but the entity seems to just be a web forum for discussing tourism. I'm not sure why that would be beneficial to be listed alongside some trade associations. Perryprog (talk) 21:34, 18 August 2021 (UTC)[reply]
It is the official tourism forum, supported by the Ministry Of Environment, Forestry & Tourism. If you see their statement release from yesterday at https://www.facebook.com/metnamibia/posts/2946834972198964 you will see they also confirm that Namibia Travel & Tourism Forum is partnered with them on digitalization of the industry. The site is under development, but the FB page and other SMNs presence is big.
Unfortunately that link doesn't work for me, but if that is the case you may very well have a point—I'm not really certain if it would be something relevant, so I'd have to leave that up to someone else. It's likely something worth bringing up on the talk page as it sounds like it's a fairly recent development. Perryprog (talk) 22:07, 18 August 2021 (UTC)[reply]
Ah, I see. So this seems something specific to the one expo, and not anything of particularly notability. If you think it's still worth asking though, you can bring it up on the talk page to see if anyone more familiar with the subject has any thoughts. Perryprog (talk) 20:29, 19 August 2021 (UTC)[reply]
