Zachary Chester Philippe Bialobos[1] (born June 9, 1996) is an American DJ, record executive, record producer, socialite, and club promoter. He was first known in the Los Angeles nightlife scene in the late 2010s as a club promoter and DJ. Later a co-founder of Field Trip Recordings, he signed notable artists including Yeat, SSGKobe, and Slump6s.[2]

Early life and education

Zachary Chester Philippe Bialobos was born on June 9, 1996, in New York City to Laura and Philippe Bialobos, His parents divorced when he was 8, and he was raised by his mother as a result. Bia's mother exposed him to music and magazine culture at a young age.[3] When he was 8 or 9 he made money by downloading music onto people's iPods.[4] He graduated from Beverly Hills High School in 2014.

Career

2015–2017

On Bia's 19th birthday, while attending the University of Southern California, he visited a Los Angeles nightclub for the first time. Rapper Fetty Wap was also there, and he invited Bia and his friends to party with them. Following the party, a promoter asked for Bia's number, assuming he was a member of Fetty Wap's entourage. Bia used his supposed association with Wap to bring his college classmates to parties once a week, for which he was paid $100. John Terzian, founder of the H.Wood Group, later hired him. In 2017, after hosting and DJing parties and dinners at the nightclub Delilah, Bia befriended musician Drake.[5] He then cameoed in Drake's music video for "Money in the Grave", which garnered speculation as to who he was.[2] Bia is also mentioned in French Montana and Drake's song “No Stylist.[6][2] During an episode of Apple Music Radio’s Zane Lowe Show a host said: “There’s nothing more Hollywood than name-dropping Zack Bia.”[2]

Expansion into Music and Field Trip Recordings (2018–present)

In early 2020, Zack Bia founded his record label, Field Trip Recordings, describing it as a natural progression from his involvement in Los Angeles' nightlife scene.[7][8] Events organized by Bia were attended by emerging artists who later gained industry recognition and contacts. Field Trip Recordings was established to provide a formal platform for emerging artists introduced through Bia’s events.[7]

Rapper Yeat was among the initial artists signed by Bia to Field Trip Recordings. Bia discovered Yeat's music early, developing a close bond long before officially signing him. Yeat initially took a one-album distribution deal with Interscope in early 2021, pledging to join Field Trip Recordings upon completion of the agreement[7]. Yeat later signed with Field Trip Recordings in partnership with Geffen Records.[7] Under Field Trip, Yeat has received multiple RIAA certifications, including singles like "Out Thë Way," "Talk," and "Flawlëss," along with his albums "2 Alivë" and "Lyfë"[9]. Yeat notably holds the distinction of having the most rap albums surpassing one billion streams this decade, marking significant success for Field Trip Recordings.[10]

In 2020, during the COVID-19 pandemic, Bia hosted virtual DJ sets on Instagram Live, which gained notable viewership.[11] These sessions featured appearances from various celebrities, including Kendall Jenner, Bella Hadid, Joan Smalls, Tinashe, Luka Sabbat, Virgil Abloh, and Drake, who debuted his single "Toosie Slide" during one of the streams.[12]

In July 2023, Bia released his debut music project titled "Learn To Fly" showcasing collaborations with prominent artists such as Don Toliver, Lil Yachty, JID, 347aidan, and DJ Gummy Bear. The EP features collaborations across multiple subgenres.[13] Bia stated that this debut marked his transition from behind-the-scenes work to releasing music under his own name.[7].

Zack Bia's career as a DJ has included performances at mulitple events and venues worldwide. He established a residency at Wynn Las Vegas in July 2021.[14] He has performed at various music festivals, notably Lyrical Lemonade’s Summer Smash Festival in Bridgeview, Illinois. In 2025, he performed DJ sets alongside headliners like Don Toliver, Yeat, Future, and Young Thug.[15] Bia's DJ tours have also included supporting major artists such as Drake on his "It's All A Blur" tour.[7]

Collaborations and appearances

Bia appeared as himself in the basketball video game NBA2K21.[16]

In 2022, Bia teamed up with Asics for a GEL-KAYANO 14 collaboration[17] to celebrate the launch of his independent record label, Field Trip Recordings.

Bia also collaborated with Beats by Dre[18] to create a pair of speakers which say “past” and “present”.

In April 2023, Bia promoted his collaboration with Nike alongside Field Trip Recordings and Verdy.[19] The shoes have the Field Trip Recordings logo along with “Ch1” and “Ch2” on the left and right shoe respectively.

Personal life

Bia has had relationships with Madison Beer, Madelyn Cline, and Olivia Rodrigo.[20]

He met Virgil Abloh in 2017 and cites him as his mentor and friend.[21]
