The monument is dated March 1989; drawing comes from 『阿波名所図会』 (1814); words are lyrics of a folk song 祖谷の粉ひき節 (date unknown but old). Whether the calligraphy makes it copyrightable I cannot tell.--ネイ(会話) 2021年7月11日 (日) 09:49 (UTC)
It is 魚梆 (also called 開梆) at 萬福寺, said to be introduced to Japan by 隠元隆琦 (1592–1673). It was remade twice (date unknown) and the one in the photo is the third one; the second one is stored in the temple.--ネイ(会話) 2021年7月11日 (日) 10:47 (UTC)
I think the 2 above are ok then. I have a few more:
Created in 1937 by 黒岩淡哉 (1872–1963), demolished 1943, rebuilt 1972. The rebuild is per original author's design, so copyright of the rebuild still belongs to original author.
It survived a fire in 1945; before 1945, the temple was last rebuilt in 1855, but I am unsure whether the statue was built at that time or it already existed.--ネイ(会話) 2021年7月12日 (月) 11:57 (UTC)
How media is structured in the parser's HTML output will soon change. This can affect bots, gadgets, user scripts and extensions. You can read more. You can test it on Testwiki or Testwiki 2.
The parameters for how you obtain tokens in the MediaWiki API were changed in 2014. The old way will no longer work from 1 September. Scripts, bots and tools that use the parameters from before the 2014 change need to be updated. You can read more.
Greetings ネイ! I am seeking review / assistance with the article The corresponding enwiki article en:Sean Rabbitt was recently semi-protected due to ongoing BLP vandalism; an IP user has been repeatedly adding categories regarding the subject's sexual orientation without sources. It was brought to my attention that the same edits have been occurring in the jawiki article. I reverted the most recent additions since Google Translate said they were the same as the edits that were being made to enwiki, but I am not at all familiar with jawiki policies or procedures and I am ja-0. Could you take a look at the recent edits (including mine), and would it be possible to add similar protection to the article here? Thank you!
I think semi-protection is not yet needed on the jawiki article; the recent edit you did on that article looks fine.--ネイ(会話) 2021年7月27日 (火) 11:11 (UTC)

Hi! I noticed that this template is used on one license template. I think it should either be deleted or added to all free license templates. I would prefer that it is added to all licenses because it is hard for me to find all free files when there is not a single category with all free files. If used there should also be a en:Template:Non-free media for the non-free files. That would make it easier to find non-free files not in use.
I think I can do the task with my bot with my current bot approval. I asked a few questions at the discussion page. I have one more question but decided that it was better to ask you directly because it was not related to the templates. I noticed a few files like ファイル:Nerima Oizumi-animegate Chronological table Gegege-no-kitaro 1.jpg have a notice abut EDP. Google Translate does not make sense to me. Is the template needed or should it be removed?
I think adding |migration={{{migration|}}} (twice) should work. But why does the template care if there is 1 or 2+ licenses? The self templates works with 1 license too.
Fixed license migration; per the edit summary, this is because usage in the form of {{self屋外美術|PD-self}} is possible. Presumably this is because {{Self|PD-self}} results in a bad (and wrong) display.--ネイ(会話) 2021年8月15日 (日) 12:59 (UTC)
┌────────────────────────────────────────────────────────────────────────────────────────────────────┘
Hi! I noticed that {{PD-self}} does not have {{Free media}}. I updated the list in 利用者:MGA73/Sandbox of files without a license and found a few oldies. Unless we can add {{Japan map}} or there is a license hidden in the text then I guess the 16 files have to go.
I do not see licenses hidden in the next. You can use {{no license}} with a notification to the uploader (see the template doc for instructions) and then they can be SD-ed after 7 days.
Hi! Many of the files that is left are a bit tricky. There is not always a clear source (at least not that I can see because Google Translate does not always give a good translation). So we may have to check them manually and it is nice that you help because you do not need Google Translate and that makes it much faster.
I tried to learn from your edits so I checked the ones you did today. I decided that ファイル:Pompei-grafiti-L.jpg is okay for Commons because the painting is more than 2000 years old so copyright expired. Tokai Train Headmark.jpg I do not understand the discussion. The uploader/photographer released the photo {{PD-self}}. If the logo/drawing is {{PD-ineligible}} then the photo is free and can be moved to Commons?
{{米国著作権継続}} is used for files that are PD in Japan but not PD in the US. Therefore, it is a fair use file per US law, and should have |dw=yes.--ネイ(会話) 2021年8月21日 (土) 10:27 (UTC)
Yes, it should be because of URAA. Note that this template does not consider the copyright status in the file's source country, so even if we ignore URAA the file might still not be allowed in Commons.--ネイ(会話) 2021年8月21日 (土) 12:41 (UTC)
Great. I made a gallery in 利用者:MGA73/Sandbox so it is easier to spot any files that are tagged incorrect. What about the toys, cartoons and product packaging? What template should we use there?
jawiki does not have specific templates on toys, cartoons and product packaging; not sure on whether they pass the threshold of originality.--ネイ(会話) 2021年8月21日 (土) 15:50 (UTC)
You are also welcome to join the meta Antispam project (which has been created a month ago in order to better fight cross-wiki promotion, spam and undisclosed paid edits): we currently don't have have any contact from/for japanese Wikipedia.
Please note that both WP:DP and WP:CSD on jawiki do not allow deletion merely because the creator is a cross-wiki spammer or an LTA. The criteria is always based on content of the article.--ネイ(会話) 2021年8月22日 (日) 17:41 (UTC)
Ok, thanks for the information (rules are not the same from one wiki to another regarding this matter).

If you are unable attend, you can also submit questions and suggestions before the meeting at our telegram group.
The files in this category should be ready to move to Commons. They should have {{Information}} and a source and an author. So if you look for files to work on they should be easy. I try to add information template with my bot when the category is getting low on files. But it is harder and harder to find files to work on because users with many uploads are fixed.
Thank you! We might want to remove this category from files that are also in (1) FileImporter error, or (2) with a {{NowCommons}} notice, since these cannot be moved to Commons using FileImporter.--ネイ(会話) 2021年9月19日 (日) 15:34 (UTC)
Yes the category should be removed from those files. I think I did that earlier but perhaps I missed some files?

I wonder if this category should be mentioned on a page somewhere so admins (or other users) remember to check the files regulary. Files in this category usually do not have a license. If you know a good place you are welcome to add it.

(Note: If it surpasses the threshold of originality, then it is definitely not PD, since the monument is created in or after 1981.)
Hi! This user uploaded some maps and wrote "from it.wikipedia". I think that we should have a better source to keep them. Some are unused so it is not a big loss to delete them. Other files are in use so I tried to find the maps on it.wiki and I think that they were deleted as copyvios. See
Perhaps you could nominate all the maps for deletion? It seems that it is getting easier to have files deleted now.
Hi! I am starting off with a {{No source}}, as I do not think merely mentioning "from Italian Wikipedia" is sufficient as a source when the file name is different.--ネイ(会話) 2021年10月17日 (日) 16:36 (UTC)
Hi! There are a few old files and a statue in this category. Perhaps you could check if the files really are eligible for Commons? A few files are allready on Commons. I will check/delete those soon.
2.jpg - these are photos of NIIGATA光のページェント and I am unsure whether these should be considered photos of copyrighted artwork. If yes, then they do not fulfill WP:FOP (reason: displayed in public for less than a month in a year) and can only be deleted.
Yes but there is a difference in just adding lights to trees and Kobe Luminarie. Kobe Luminarie is build and designed by humans. The tree is not. So I do not think we have to worry.
Hi! I have been working on files in Category:Unidentified locator maps of municipalities in Japan for some time and soon the last files will be fixed. Next category will be Category:Bot deletion not possible. Perhaps you could help scan the category for possible bad files? For example files with FOP-issues? Also some of the first few files mention a link to some website. Perhaps you can figure out if it is just a link with more info or if it is the source of the file. If you find files that need a retransfer you could use User:MGA73/NowCommonsCheck.js to mark the files with 1 click.
3.7k files is tough. I might help when I have time but cannot be expected for too much (plus I am planning a break mid to late November).--ネイ(会話) 2021年11月11日 (木) 13:19 (UTC)
Yes it is a lot of files. I was just thinking of a visual scan through the category. Like just spend 30 minutes looking for possible problems.
What do you think of those Category:Files uploaded by Mariemon - NowCommons? I think that most of the stones look very simple or natural meaning that they do not look complex enough to be copyrighted statues. Also the text seems to be simple text meaning that it is not copyrightable. So I think they could be okay. But some may think otherwise.
Hi! Hope you enjoyed your break ^ _ ^ Category:Bot deletion not possible is down to 3.2k files so it is going the right way. If you have time you are very welcome to help find out what to do with the first few files in the category: 1) Delete on jawiki? 2) Delete on Commons? 3) Delete on both Commons and jawiki? 4) Retransfer?
The first 33 files (so far) could use some attention. I plan to check and delete the files from the top so whenever you have some time you could check a few files from the top.
Checked the first 33 files and think the following might be problematic.
File:0011qec win 1b.JPG - file uploaded in 2009 and we are unsure whether permission was really obtained; the source website is closed down already.
File:Amateur Muay Thai.JPG - file uploaded in 2005 and we are unsure whether permission was really obtained; the source website is closed down already.
File:FERRET.jpg - "requires permission from author" so it is non-free. It should be deleted here and on Commons.
File:Gunkan March.JPG - the song is published in 1900 and composer died in 1941 (i.e. PD); unsure if the whole monument or the description below is copyrightable.
Hi! I wrote to you about Template:行政区位置図 before your wiki break. Perhaps you can have a look and help me figure out what to do? Should we just subst it so it turns into a plain [[File:<name>|...]] or do we still need a template? (there are 151 files related to that template - see Category:コモンズへの移動により即時削除対象となったファイル).
Started a discussion at Template‐ノート:行政区位置図. The aim is to deprecate the template and do replacements via BOTREQ. Please let me know if you would like to work on the BOTREQ once consensus is reached.
Thanks you very much. If it is not too complicated I can fix it with my bot.
Hi! I noticed Template‐ノート:行政区位置図 so I made 利用者:MGA73/行政区位置図 and did this edit: Special:Diff/87493726 (based on 京都市). I wonder if the idea is that some text should be visible below the file. If yes the code should be fixed before I subst the template and if not then I think the code should be simplified so the pagename will not be added. I also wonder if the code to center the file is needed. Could you have a look and let me know what you think?
Centering: Seems not needed because it is always used in {{日本の行政区}}, which already does the centering.
Text: There seems to be no discussion around that. Currently the text is used as the alt attribute and I think this can stay (i.e. not changing it with this deprecation; anyone who would like to make it visible as caption text can start a separate discussion).--ネイ(会話) 2022年1月14日 (金) 07:06 (UTC)
A subpage of プロジェクト:医学 would work if a discussion is started at プロジェクト‐ノート:医学 and users in that WikiProject agree. The pages were moved to user space per Help:ブック/フィードバック#ページ名が「Book:」から始まるブックの移動提案, because (1) Japanese Wikipedia never had a Book namespace, and the low usage count does not justify its creation; (2) the only remaining choice in the Book tool is to create the page in user space, hence the existing pages starting with "Book:" were moved to user space for consistency.--ネイ(会話) 2021年12月24日 (金) 03:13 (UTC)
