അൾജീരിയയിൽ പ്രവർത്തിക്കുന്ന ഒരു ഇസ്ലാമിക തീവ്രവാദ സംഘടനയാണ് അൽ ഖാഇദ ഇൻ ദ ഇസ്ലാമിക് മഗ്രിബ്. അൾജീരിയൻ സർക്കാരിനെ അട്ടിമറിക്കുകയും ഒരു ഇസ്ലാമികരാജ്യം സ്ഥാപിക്കുകയുമാണ് സംഘടനയുടെ പ്രഖ്യാപിത ലക്ഷ്യം. 1998-നു ശേഷം നിരവധി കൂട്ടക്കൊലകളും തട്ടിക്കൊണ്ടു പോകലുകളും AQIM നടത്തുകയുണ്ടായി. യു.എസ് ഡിപാർട്ട്മെന്റ് ഒവ് സ്റ്റെയ്റ്റും യൂറോപ്യൻ യൂണിയനും ഈ സംഘടനയെ വിദേശതീവ്രവാദ സംഘടനയുടെ കരിമ്പട്ടികയിൽപ്പെടുത്തിയിട്ടുണ്ട്.

ചരിത്രം

സലഫിസ്റ്റ് ഗ്രൂപ് ഫോർ പ്രീച്ചിങ് ആൻഡ് കോംബാറ്റ്(Salafist Group for Preaching and Combat) എന്ന പേരിലാണ് സംഘടന ആദ്യമായി അറിയപ്പെട്ടിരുന്നത്. 2007 മുതലാണ് GSPC അൽ ഖാഇദ ഇൻ ദ ഇസ്ലാമിക് മഗ്രിബ് എന്ന പേരു സ്വീകരിച്ചത്. അൾജീരിയൻ ആഭ്യന്തരയുദ്ധത്തിന്റെ അവസാനത്തോടെയാണ് GSPC രൂപീകൃതമാകുന്നത്. ആംഡ് ഇസ്ലാമിക് ഗ്രൂപ്പിന്റെ (GIA) കമാണ്ടറായിരുന്ന ഹസ്സൻ ഹത്തബ് അവരുമായി തെറ്റിപ്പിരിഞ്ഞാണ് GSPC രൂപീകരിച്ചത്. അൾജീരിയൻ ആഭ്യന്തരയുദ്ധത്തിൽ GIA സാധാരണക്കാരെ കൂട്ടക്കൊല ചെയ്യുന്നു എന്നാരോപിച്ചായിരുന്നു രാജി.

GSPC അൽ ഖാഇദയുമായി അടുക്കുന്നത് എതിർത്ത ഹത്തബിന് പിന്നീട് GSPC-ന്റെ നേതൃത്വം നഷ്ടപ്പെട്ടു. പുതിയ നേതൃത്വത്തിന് കീഴിൽ GSPC-നെ അൽ ഖാഇദ വിഴുങ്ങി.
