സിറിയയിലെ ആഭ്യന്തരയുദ്ധത്തിൽ പങ്കാളികളായ ഒരു പ്രധാന റിബൽ ഗ്രൂപ്പാണ് അൽ നുസ്റ ഫ്രണ്ട്. അറബിയിൽ ജബ്ഹത്ത് അൽ നുസ്റ (Jabhat al-Nusra), (അറബി: جبهة النصرة لأهل الشام‎ ജബ്ഹത്ത് അൽ നുസ്റാഹ് ലി അഹ്ലി അശ്ശാം എന്നാണ് പൂർണ്ണരൂപം, "The Support Front for the People of Al-Sham", ചുരുക്കരൂപത്തിൽ JN or JaN), al-Qaeda in Syria or al-Qaeda in the Levant എന്നും ഈ ഗ്രൂപ്പ് അറിയപ്പെടുന്നു,^[42] ഇസ്‌ലാമിക ഭരണം സ്ഥാപിക്കുക എന്ന ലക്ഷ്യത്തോടെ അസദ് ഭരണകൂടത്തിനെതിരെ പോരാടുന്ന ഒരു സുന്നി ജിഹാദി സായുധ മിലീഷ്യാ ഗ്രൂപ്പാണിത്.^[43] അൽ ഖായിദയുടെ സിറിയൻ ശാഖയായി ഇതറിയപ്പെടുന്നു,^[44] അയൽ രാജ്യമായ ലബനാനിലും ഇതിന്റെ പ്രവർത്തനമുണ്ട്.^[45] 2012 ജനുവരി 23നാണ് ഈ ഗ്രൂപ്പ് രൂപം കൊണ്ടത്‌. സിറിയയിൽ പോരാടുന്ന ഗ്രൂപ്പുകളിൽ ഏറ്റവും യുദ്ധവൈഭവമുള്ള ഗ്രൂപ്പായി ഇത് ചുരുങ്ങിയ നാൾകൊണ്ട് പേരെടുത്തു. അമേരിക്കയടക്കം ചില രാജ്യങ്ങൾ ഇതിനെ തീവ്രവാദ പട്ടികയിൽ പെടുത്തിയിട്ടുണ്ട്.
