ਆਰੰਭ ਦਾ ਜੀਵਨ

ਆਸ਼ਾ ਪਾਰੇਖ 2 ਅਕਤੂਬਰ 1942 ਨੂੰ ਪੈਦਾ ਹੋਈ ਜੋ ਇੱਕ ਗੁਜਰਾਤੀ ਪਰਿਵਾਰ ਨਾਲ ਸੰਬੰਧ[4] ਹੈ।[5] ਉਸ ਦੀ ਮਾਂ, ਸੁਧਾ ਉਰਫ ਸਲਮਾ ਪਾਰੇਖ, ਇੱਕ ਬੋਹਰਾ ਮੁਸਲਮਾਨ ਸੀ ਅਤੇ ਉਸਦੇ ਪਿਤਾ, ਬੱਚੂਭਾਈ ਪਾਰੇਖ, ਹਿੰਦੂ ਗੁਜਰਾਤੀ ਸਨ।[6][7][8][9][10] ਉਸ ਦੀ ਮਾਂ ਨੇ ਉਸਨੂੰ ਛੋਟੀ ਉਮਰ ਵਿੱਚ ਹੀ ਭਾਰਤੀ ਕਲਾਸੀਕਲ ਡਾਂਸ ਕਲਾਸਾਂ ਵਿੱਚ ਦਾਖਲ ਕਰਵਾਇਆ ਅਤੇ ਉਸ ਨੇ ਪੰਡਿਤ ਬੰਸੀਲਾਲ ਭਾਰਤੀ ਸਮੇਤ ਕਈ ਅਧਿਆਪਕਾਂ ਤੋਂ ਸਿੱਖਿਆ।

ਨਿੱਜੀ ਜੀਵਨ

ਪਾਰੇਖ ਅਣਵਿਆਹੀ ਹੀ ਰਹੀ ਹੈ, ਇਹ ਦਾਅਵਾ ਕਰਦੀ ਹੈ ਕਿ ਉਸ ਦੀ ਪਹੁੰਚ ਤੋਂ ਬਾਹਰ ਹੋਣ ਦੀ ਸਾਖ ਵਿੱਚ ਲੋਕ ਵਿਆਹ ਕਰਨ ਲਈ ਉਸਦਾ ਹੱਥ ਮੰਗਣ ਤੋਂ ਝਿਜਕਦੇ ਹਨ। ਆਪਣੀ ਯਾਦਾਂ "ਦਿ ਹਿੱਟ ਗਰਲ" ਵਿੱਚ, ਉਸ ਨੇ ਅਫਵਾਹਾਂ ਦੀ ਪੁਸ਼ਟੀ ਕੀਤੀ[11] ਕਿ ਉਹ ਨਿਰਦੇਸ਼ਕ ਨਾਸਿਰ ਹੁਸੈਨ ਨਾਲ ਰੋਮਾਂਟਿਕ ਤੌਰ 'ਤੇ ਨਾਲ ਸੀ, ਜੋ ਪਹਿਲਾਂ ਹੀ ਵਿਆਹਿਆ ਹੋਇਆ ਸੀ, ਪਰ ਦੋਵਾਂ ਪਰਿਵਾਰਾਂ ਦੇ ਸਤਿਕਾਰ ਦੇ ਕਾਰਨ, ਉਹ ਉਸ ਨਾਲ ਵਿਆਹ ਨਹੀਂ ਕਰ ਸਕੀ।[12] ਪਹਿਲਾਂ, ਪਾਰੇਖ ਸਿਰਫ ਇਹ ਦੱਸਦੀ ਸੀ ਕਿ ਉਸ ਦਾ ਇੱਕ ਲੰਬੇ ਸਮੇਂ ਤੋਂ ਬੁਆਏਫ੍ਰੈਂਡ ਸੀ ਪਰ ਉਸ ਨੇ ਰਿਸ਼ਤੇ ਬਾਰੇ ਜ਼ਿਕਰ ਕਰਨ ਤੋਂ ਇਨਕਾਰ ਕਰ ਦਿੱਤਾ, ਸਿਰਫ ਇਹ ਕਹਿੰਦੇ ਹੋਏ ਕਿ "ਇਹ ਚੰਗਾ ਸੀ ਜਦੋਂ ਤੱਕ ਇਹ ਚੱਲਿਆ।"[13] ਉਸ ਨੇ ਕਿਹਾ ਕਿ ਉਸਨੇ ਆਪਣੇ ਜੀਵਨ ਦੇ ਆਖਰੀ ਸਾਲ ਦੌਰਾਨ ਨਾਸਿਰ ਹੁਸੈਨ ਨੂੰ ਨਹੀਂ ਦੇਖਿਆ ਸੀ ਜਿਵੇਂ ਕਿ ਉਹ ਆਪਣੀ ਪਤਨੀ ਦੀ ਮੌਤ ਕਾਰਨ ਇਕਾਂਤਵਾਸ ਹੋ ਗਿਆ ਸੀ,[14] ਪਰ ਉਸ ਨੇ 2002 ਵਿੱਚ ਉਸਦੀ ਮੌਤ ਤੋਂ ਇੱਕ ਦਿਨ ਪਹਿਲਾਂ ਉਸ ਨਾਲ ਗੱਲ ਕੀਤੀ ਸੀ।[15] ਉਸ ਨੇ ਲਗਭਗ ਅਮਰੀਕਾ ਵਿੱਚ ਰਹਿੰਦੇ ਇੱਕ ਭਾਰਤੀ ਪ੍ਰੋਫੈਸਰ ਨਾਲ ਵਿਆਹ ਕਰਵਾ ਲਿਆ, ਪਰ ਉਹ ਆਪਣੀ ਪ੍ਰੇਮਿਕਾ ਨੂੰ ਛੱਡਣਾ ਨਹੀਂ ਚਾਹੁੰਦਾ ਸੀ, ਇਸ ਲਈ ਉਸ ਨੇ ਆਪਣੇ ਵਿਆਹ ਦੀਆਂ ਯੋਜਨਾਵਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਰੱਦ ਕਰ ਦਿੱਤਾ। ਉਸ ਨੇ ਇੱਕ ਬੱਚੇ ਨੂੰ ਗੋਦ ਲੈਣ ਦੀ ਕੋਸ਼ਿਸ਼ ਵੀ ਕੀਤੀ ਸੀ, ਪਰ ਉਸਦੇ ਜਨਮ ਵਿੱਚ ਨੁਕਸ ਸਨ, ਅਤੇ ਡਾਕਟਰਾਂ ਨੇ ਉਸ ਨੂੰ ਗੋਦ ਲੈਣ ਤੋਂ ਇਨਕਾਰ ਕਰ ਦਿੱਤਾ ਸੀ।[16]
