ਕੈਲਾਸ਼ ਸਤਿਆਰਥੀ (ਜਨਮ: 11 ਜਨਵਰੀ 1954) ਭਾਰਤ ਦੇ ਬੱਚਿਆਂ ਦੇ ਹੱਕਾਂ ਲਈ ਕੰਮ ਕਰਨ ਵਾਲਾ ਇੱਕ ਕਾਰਕੁੰਨ ਹੈ, ਜਿਸ ਨੂੰ (2014) ਲਈ ਨੋਬਲ ਅਮਨ ਪੁਰਸਕਾਰ ਨਾਲ ਸਨਮਾਨਿਤ ਕੀਤਾ ਗਿਆ ਹੈ।^[3] ਉਸਨੇ ਪਾਕਿਸਤਾਨ ਦੀ ਮਲਾਲਾ ਯੂਸੁਫਜਈ ਦੇ ਨਾਲ ਇਹ ਨੋਬਲ ਇਨਾਮ ਸਾਂਝਾ ਕੀਤਾ ਹੈ। ਇਲੈਕਟਰਾਨਿਕ ਇੰਜੀਨੀਅਰ ਕੈਲਾਸ਼ ਸਤਿਆਰਥੀ 26 ਸਾਲ ਦੀ ਉਮਰ ਵਿੱਚ ਹੀ ਕੈਰੀਅਰ ਛੱਡਕੇ ਬੱਚਿਆਂ ਦੇ ਹੱਕਾਂ ਲਈ ਕੰਮ ਕਰਨ ਲੱਗ ਪਿਆ ਸੀ। ਇਸ ਸਮੇਂ ਉਹ ਗਲੋਬਲ ਮਾਰਚ ਅਗੇਂਸਟ ਚਾਇਲਡ ਲੇਬਰ ਦਾ ਪ੍ਰਧਾਨ ਵੀ ਹੈ।

ਨੋਬਲ ਤੋਂ ਪਹਿਲਾਂ ਉਸ ਨੂੰ 1994 ਵਿੱਚ ਜਰਮਨੀ ਦਾ ਦ ਏਇਕਨਰ ਇੰਟਰਨੈਸ਼ਨਲ ਪੀਸ ਅਵਾਰਡ, 1995 ਵਿੱਚ ਅਮਰੀਕਾ ਦਾ ਰਾਬਰਟ ਐਫ ਕੈਨੇਡੀ ਹਿਊਮਨ ਰਾਈਟਸ ਅਵਾਰਡ, 2007 ਵਿੱਚ ਗੋਲਡ ਮੈਡਲ ਆਫ ਇਟੈਲੀਅਨ ਸੈਨੇਟ ਅਤੇ 2009 ਵਿੱਚ ਅਮਰੀਕਾ ਦੇ ਡਿਫੈਂਡਰਸ ਆਫ ਡੈਮੋਕਰੇਸੀ ਅਵਾਰਡ ਸਹਿਤ ਕਈ ਰਾਸ਼ਟਰੀ ਅਤੇ ਅੰਤਰਰਾਸ਼ਟਰੀ ਅਵਾਰਡ ਮਿਲ ਚੁੱਕੇ ਹਨ।^[4]

ਅਰੰਭਕ ਜੀਵਨ

ਕੈਲਾਸ਼ ਸਤਿਆਰਥੀ ਦਾ ਜਨਮ ਮੱਧ ਪ੍ਰਦੇਸ਼ ਦੇ ਵਿਦਿਸ਼ਾ ਕਸਬੇ ਹੋਇਆ ਸੀ। ਉਸ ਨੇ ਵਿਦਿਸ਼ਾ ਦੀ ਸਮਰਾਟ ਅਸ਼ੋਕ ਟਕਨਾਲੋਜੀ ਇੰਸਟੀਚਿਊਟ ਤੋਂ ਇਲੈਕਟਰੀਕਲ ਇੰਜੀਨੀਅਰਿੰਗ ਦੀ ਪੜ੍ਹਾਈ ਕੀਤੀ^[5] ਅਤੇ ਫਿਰ ਹਾਈ-ਵੋਲਟੇਜ ਇੰਜੀਨੀਅਰਿੰਗ ਵਿੱਚ ਪੋਸਟ ਗ੍ਰੈਜੂਏਸ਼ਨ ਦੀ ਪੜ੍ਹਾਈ ਕੀਤੀ ਅਤੇ ਫਿਰ ਉਸ ਨੇ ਕੁਝ ਸਾਲ ਲਈ ਭੋਪਾਲ ਦੇ ਇੱਕ ਕਾਲਜ ਲੈਕਚਰਾਰ ਵਜੋਂ ਕੰਮ ਕੀਤਾ।^[6]
