ਦੇਹਰਾਦੂਨ,ਭਾਰਤ ਦੀ ਰਾਜਧਾਨੀ ਹੈ ਜਿਸਦੇ ਜ਼ਿਲ੍ਹੇ ਦੇ ਮੁੱਖ ਦਫ਼ਤਰ ਦੇਹਰਾਦੂਨ ਨਗਰ ਵਿੱਚ ਹਨ। ਇਸ ਜਿੱਲੇ ਵਿੱਚ 6 ਤਹਿਸੀਲਾਂ, 6 ਭਾਈਚਾਰੇ ਦੇ ਵਿਕਾਸ ਬਲਾਕ,17 ਸ਼ਹਿਰ,764 ਆਬਾਦ ਪਿੰਡ ਤੇ 18 ਇੱਦਾਂ ਦੇ ਪਿੰਡ ਜਿਥੇ ਕੋਈ ਨਹੀਂ ਰਹਿੰਦਾ ਹੈ। ਦੇਸ਼ ਦੀ ਰਾਜਧਾਨੀ ਤੋਂ 230 ਕਿ.ਲੋ. ਦੂਰ ਸਥਿੱਤ ਇਸ ਨਗਰ ਦਾ ਪ੍ਰਸਿਧ ਇਤਿਹਾਸ ਹੈ। ਕੁਦਰਤੀ ਸੁੰਦਰਤਾ ਨਾਲ ਭਰਭੂਰ ਇਹ ਨਗਰ ਅਨੇਕ ਸਿੱਖਿਆ ਸੰਸਥਾਂਵਾਂ ਦੇ ਕਾਰਣ ਵੀ ਜਾਣਿਆ ਜਾਂਦਾ ਹੈ। ਇੱਥੇ ਤੇਲ ਤੇ ਕੁਦਰਤੀ ਗੈਸ ਆਯੋਗ, ਸਰਵੇ ਆਫ਼ ਇੰਡਿਆ, ਭਾਰਤੀ ਪੇਟ੍ਰੋਲੀਅਮ ਸੰਸਥਾਨ ਵਰਗੇ ਸ਼ਿਖਾਂ ਸੰਸਥਾਨ ਹਨ। ਇਹ ਇੱਕ ਪ੍ਰਸਿੱਧ ਸੈਲਾਨੀ ਸਥਲ ਹੈ। ਦੇਹਰਾਦੂਨ ਵਿੱਚ ਵਣ ਅਨੁਸੰਧਾਨ ਸੰਸਥਾਨ, ਭਾਰਤੀ ਰਾਸ਼ਟਰੀ ਮਿਲਿਟਰੀ ਕਾਲਜ, ਇੰਡਿਅਨ ਮਿਲਿਟਰੀ ਅਕੇਡਿਮੀ ਵਰਗੀ ਸਿੱਖਿਆ ਸੰਸਥਾਂਵਾਂ ਹਨ। ਉਰੇ ਬਾਸਮਤੀ ਚੌਲ, ਚਾਹ ਤੇ ਲੀਚੀ ਦੇ ਬਾਗ ਇਸਦੀ ਪ੍ਰਸਿਧੀ ਹੋਰ ਹਨ ਤੇ ਸ਼ਹਿਰ ਨੂੰ ਸੁੰਦਰਤਾ ਦਿੰਦੇ ਹੰਨ।^[1]
