I'm not sure why did it change, but you can simply create the page ਮਦਦ:ਚੀਜ਼ਾਂ and put a link to ਮਦਦ:ਸਮੱਗਰੀ there. Or even a redirect, like this:

There are very less number of editors in punjabi wikipedia.They need to be encouraged to give more articles or add substance to articles. Experienced editors should have broad outlook to encourage new editors and should have patience so that articles come up.And also they should develop a template to give notice to increase article if they themselves do not have time to expand it. We are having a great problem while putting dates in Gurmukhi for e.g. If we want 1931 in Gurmukhi then some figures overlap each other and we end up seeing ੧੯੩੧ . As some of you might already have heard Wikimedia Deutschland is working on a new Wikimedia project. It is called m:Wikidata. The goal of Wikidata is to become a central data repository for the Wikipedias, its sister projects and the world. In the future it will hold data like the number of inhabitants of a country, the date of birth of a famous person or the length of a river. These can then be used in all Wikimedia projects and outside of them.

The project is divided into three phases and "we are getting close to roll-out the first phase". The phases are:

1. language links in the Wikipedias (making it possible to store the links between the language editions of an article just once in Wikidata instead of in each linked article)
2. infoboxes (making it possible to store the data that is currently in infoboxes in one central place and share the data)
3. lists (making it possible to create lists and similar things based on queries to Wikidata so they update automatically when new data is added or modified)

It'd be great if you could join us, test the demo version, provide feedback and take part in the development of Wikidata. You can find all the relevant information including an FAQ and sign-up links for our on-wiki newsletter on the Wikidata page on Meta.

Hello all,

Why is it that we are using the "Lohit" and "Saab" fonts as opposed to Raavi? Maybe it's just me, but I've accessed the Punjabi Wikipedia on different operating systems (Windows XP, Vista, 7) and both fonts have unattractive display issues. Lohit displays distortion along the bar above each character, and Saab doesn't space lines out properly.

Raavi works perfectly well and has been included, by default, since Windows Vista. It even displays on XP, though there are some unresolved issues.

So, what gives?

Ah, I just learned that 'reset' defaults to Raavi. Still curious as to why we're using a buggy font as the default, though!

With respect to my previous point about line spacing, it seems to be a problem with Raavi, as well. I was actually referring to the display of the header beneath the "ਪੰਜਾਬੀ ਕੀਬੋਰਡ | ਬਰਾਦਰੀ ਪਿੜ" box at the top of each page... Anybody have any ideas?

Before starting world war 3 because of one word lets have a look at how readers will experience this wiki, I believe that Wikipedia is written for its readers, and when a reader first sees the Punjabi wiki, it really puts you off and makes this Wiki look shabby and unmaintained. One of the biggest problems is this font issue which must be fixed ASAP. follow the link https://bugzilla.wikimedia.org/show_bug.cgi?id=40473 and add a comment about the problem and vote it as a major problem that needs to be solved ASAP, because of these problems this wiki is hard to read and readers will probably just go to english or some other indic wiki to find what they are looking for because the Punjabi is too hard to interpret. Another thing when a person logs onto http://www.wikipedia.org/ under "1000+" this wiki is noted as "ਪੰਜਾਬੀ / پنجابی ", please remove the Shahmukhi word and label it as "ਗੁਰਮੁਖੀ ਪੰਜਾਬੀ" >>Zarienah (talk) ੧੭:੨੦, ੨੨ ਸਿਤੰਬਰ ੨੦੧੨ (UTC)

Made separate heading for word ਦਿਹਾਂਤ as issue is ਦਿਹਾਂਤ particular word exists in punjabi or not. Revert action by taributtar on {{ਜ ਬ ਸ਼ਖ਼ਸ}} states ਦਿਹਾਂਤ as non-punjabi word as reason in history log of his action . I have not accepted this and reverted his revision back giving reason simultaneously on sub page ਫਰਮਾ ਗੱਲ-ਬਾਤ:ਜ ਬ ਸ਼ਖ਼ਸ/doc,asked him to give source for his conviction when he went on discussing again & again on this. He has not given any proof for his personal opinion, and beating the bush in talks held with him on the subject .Even to the question that which source will he accept as standard , if it contained ਦਿਹਾਂਤ as Punjabi word , , he has not answered. i've made my point in the just previous msg by me. Why not ਮੌਤ; the most understanding, short and easy to understand word. Why the arguments here for ਦਿਹਾਂਤ? The google search (as you beleive in those) proving that ਮੌਤ is used the most and is know to even non-educated Punjabis. Why to create conflicts about the controversial? We should do so if none other is available but not only other, we have the best (ਮੌਤ), then why conflicts. what ਮੌਤ lacks? ਮੌਤ is the mostly used and even neutral. In all my studies of Punjabi, I have never come across the word ਦਿਹਾਂਤ (maybe its because I haven't studied enough) but I am familiar with ਮੌਤ and I would say its better to use ਮੌਤ Zarienah (talk) ੦੮:੦੦, ੨੨ ਸਿਤੰਬਰ ੨੦੧੨ (UTC)
