ਸ੍ਰਿਸ਼ਟੀ ਰਚਨਾ ਮਿਥਿਹਾਸ

ਇੱਕ ਕ੍ਰੀਏਸ਼ਨ ਮਿਥਿਹਾਸ (ਜਾਂ ਕੌਸਮੋਗਿਨਿਕ ਮਾਇਥ) ਇੱਕ ਚਿੰਨਾਤਮਿਕ ਲੰਬੀ ਕਥਾ ਹੈ ਕਿ ਸੰਸਾਰ ਕਿਵੇਂ ਸ਼ੁਰੂ ਹੋਇਆ ਅਤੇ ਕਿਵੇਂ ਲੋਕ ਪਹਿਲੀ ਵਾਰ ਇਸਦੇ ਆਦੀ ਬਣਦੇ ਗਏ।^[2]^[3] ਜਦੋਂਕਿ ਪ੍ਰਸਿੱਧ ਵਰਤੋ ਵਿੱਚ ਆਉੰਦਾ ਸ਼ਬਦ ਮਿਥ ਅਕਸਰ ਝੂਠੀਆਂ ਜਾਂ ਕਾਲਪਨਿਕ ਕਹਾਣੀਆਂ ਵੱਲ ਇਸ਼ਾਰਾ ਕਰਦਾ ਹੈ, ਫੇਰ ਵੀ ਰਸਮੀ ਤੌਰ ਤੇ, ਇਸਦਾ ਅਰਥ ਝੂਠਪੁਣਾ ਨਹੀਂ ਹੈ। ਸੱਭਿਆਚਾਰ ਆਮਤੌਰ ਤੇ ਆਪਣੇ ਰਚਨਾ ਮਿਥਿਹਾਸਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਸੱਚ ਮੰਨਦੇ ਹਨ।^[4]

"ਸਾਂਝੀ ਵਰਤੋਂ ਵਿੱਚ ਸ਼ਬਦ 'ਮਿਥਿਹਾਸ' ਉਹਨਾਂ ਕਥਾਵਾਂ ਜਾਂ ਵਿਸ਼ਵਾਸਾਂ ਵੱਲ ਇਸ਼ਾਰਾ ਕਰਦਾ ਹੈ ਜੋ ਗੈਰ-ਸੱਚ ਜਾਂ ਸਿਰਫ ਕਾਲਪਨਿਕ ਹੁੰਦੇ ਹਨ; ਕਹਾਣੀਆਂ ਜੋ ਰਾਸ਼ਟਰੀ ਜਾਂ ਸੰਸਕ੍ਰਿਤਿਕ ਮਿਥਿਹਾਸ ਬਣਾਉਂਦੀਆਂ ਹਨ ਅਜਿਹੇ ਲੱਛਣ ਅਤੇ ਘਟਨਾਵਾਂ ਦਰਸਾਉਂਦੀਆਂ ਹਨ, ਜਿਹਨਾਂ ਬਾਰੇ ਹੋਣਾ ਸਾਨੂੰ ਸਾਂਝੀ ਬੁੱਧੀ ਅਤੇ ਅਨੁਭਵ ਅਸੰਭਵ ਦੱਸਦੀ ਹੈ। ਹੋਰ ਤਾਂ ਹੋਰ, ਸਾਰੀਆਂ ਸੰਸਕ੍ਰਿਤੀਆਂ ਅਜਿਹੇ ਮਿਥਿਹਾਸਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਮਨਾਉਂਦੀਆਂ ਹਨ ਅਤੇ ਉਹਨਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਸ਼ਬਦਾਂ ਜਾਂ ਚਿੰਨਾਤਮਿਕ ਸੱਚਾਂ ਦੀਆਂ ਵਿਭਿੰਨ ਡਿਗਰੀਆਂ ਪ੍ਰਦਾਨ ਕਰਦੀਆਂ ਹਨ।
