ਹਿੰਦੂ ਗ੍ਰੰਥ ਔਰਤਾਂ ਦੀ ਪਦਵੀ 'ਤੇ ਵੱਖੋ-ਵੱਖਰੇ ਅਤੇ ਵਿਵਾਦਪੂਰਨ ਵਿਚਾਰਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਪੇਸ਼ ਕਰਦੇ ਹਨ ਜਿਸ ਵਿੱਚ ਉੱਚਿਤ ਦੇਵੀ ਦੇ ਤੌਰ 'ਤੇ ਔਰਤਾਂ ਦੀ ਅਗਵਾਈ ਨੂੰ ਲੈ ਕੇ, ਆਪਣੀ ਭੂਮਿਕਾ ਨੂੰ ਸੀਮਿਤ ਕਰਨ ਲਈ ਇੱਕ ਆਗਿਆਕਾਰੀ ਧੀ, ਘਰਵਾਲੀ ਅਤੇ ਮਾਤਾ ਹੈ। ਹਿੰਦੂ ਧਰਮ ਦੇ ਇੱਕ ਗ੍ਰੰਥ, ਰਿਗਵੇਦ ਦੀ ਦੇਵੀ ਸੁਕਤਾ ਔਰਤ ਦੀ ਊਰਜਾ ਦੀ ਘੋਸ਼ਣਾ ਕਰਦਾ ਹੈ ਜਿਸ ਨੇ ਸਾਰੀ ਵਸਤੂ ਅਤੇ ਚੇਤਨਾ, ਅਨਾਦਿ ਅਤੇ ਅਨੰਤ, ਪਰਾਭੌਤਿਕ ਅਤੇ ਅਨੁਭਵੀ ਅਸਲੀਅਤ (ਬ੍ਰਹਮ), ਹਰ ਚੀਜ਼ ਦੀ ਆਤਮਾ (ਸਰਵਉੱਚ ਸਵੈ) ਹੈ। ^[1]^[2] ਕੁੱਝ ਹਿੰਦੂ ਉਪਨਿਸ਼ਦਾਂ, ਸ਼ਾਸਤਰਾਂ ਅਤੇ ਪੁਰਾਣਾਂ, ਖਾਸ ਤੌਰ 'ਤੇ ਦੇਵੀ ਉਪਨਿਸ਼ਦ, ਦੇਵੀ ਮਹਤਮਯ ਅਤੇ ਦੇਵੀ-ਭਾਗਵਤ ਪੁਰਾਣ ਵਿੱਚ ਔਰਤ ਨੂੰ ਸਭ ਤੋਂ ਸ਼ਕਤੀਸ਼ਾਲੀ ਸ਼ਕਤੀ ਵਜੋਂ ਮੰਨਿਆ ਜਾਂਦਾ ਹੈ।^[1]^[3]^[4]
