罗伯特·威廉·卡恩斯（英語：Robert William Kearns, 1927年3月10日—2005年2月9日）是一位美国独立发明家。他发明了间歇式挡风玻璃雨刷系统，自1969年至今使用于大多数的汽车上。1964年12月1日，他提起申请了他的第一个发明专利。

卡恩斯赢得了两场知名的侵犯专利权案，被告分别是福特汽车公司（1978-1990）和克莱斯勒公司（1982-1992）。他发明的“间歇式挡风玻璃刮水器机构”获得了专利，这种刮水器机构在小雨或薄雾中很有用；他试图让美国汽车制造业“三巨头”对技术许可感兴趣。虽然他们都拒绝了他的建议，但从1969年开始在他们生产的汽车上也开始安装间歇式雨刷。
