2021年世界花样滑冰锦标赛于2021年3月22日至28日在瑞典斯德哥尔摩举办。比赛分男子单人滑、女子单人滑、双人滑和冰舞四个小项。
斯德哥尔摩于2018年6月确认获得该届比赛的主办权[1]，这是斯德哥尔摩时隔74年再次举办世界花样滑冰锦标赛[2]。
由于国际体育仲裁法庭于2020年12月17日作出判决，禁止存在国家级体育禁药问题的俄罗斯在两年内以国家名义参加世界锦标赛、奥林匹克运动会及残疾人奥林匹克运动会[3]，该队在该赛事以“俄罗斯花样滑冰联合会”（Figure Skating Federation of Russia，缩写：FSR）的名义参加比赛[4]。当该队选手获得冠军，颁奖典礼会播放彼得·伊里奇·柴可夫斯基的第1钢琴协奏曲[5]。
由于2020年世界花样滑冰锦标赛因为2019冠状病毒病疫情而被迫取消，此次比赛是世界花样滑冰锦标赛时隔两年再度举办[6]，同时此次比赛也是2020–21赛季唯一的国际滑冰联盟花样滑冰锦标赛[7]。
比赛举办之时，全球仍然受2019冠状病毒病疫情困扰，为防止感染扩大，赛事组委会出台了相应措施，包括取消现场观众[8]、限制相关人员与外界的接触、强制相关人员在规定场合下佩戴口罩、定期对相关人员进行病毒检测等[9]。由于相关人员无需隔离便可进入比赛气泡，外界批评组委会的防疫措施不够严格，并担忧此次比赛会出现超级传播事件[10]。部分参赛运动员也对于此次比赛能否安全举办表示担忧[11]。
维多利亚王储原计划出席该届赛事的开幕式，后来由于她和她的丈夫丹尼尔亲王确诊2019冠状病毒病，她最终未参加开幕式，仅以视频形式欢迎参赛运动员[12]。
此次比赛同时也是2022年北京冬奥花样滑冰比赛的其中一项资格赛，大多数席位会在此次比赛后决定。[10]
参赛资格
按照以往惯例，国际滑冰联盟会依据前一年世界锦标赛的结果来分配该届锦标赛的席位，然而由于2020年世界锦标赛取消举办。国际滑冰联盟根据2019年世界锦标赛的结果来决定各国家/地区所获席位数。[13]

女子单人滑
三名俄罗斯籍选手包揽前三名，这是世界花样滑冰锦标赛女子单人滑历史上第二次出现同一支队伍包揽前三名的情况。[32]
