Aplomado talk 00:19, 11 July 2006 (UTC) You're adding a lot of vaguely notable or useful trivia; at the very least, you could cite your sources. --Golbez 22:50, 16 July 2006 (UTC) My informationBelieve it or not, the information I have compiled has come from the Trivial Pursuit Millennium Edition PC Game. All the information I have added to Wikipedia is legitimate information. --Mr. Brain 23:41, 16 July 2006 (UTC)
Nellie BallI don't see anything wrong with saying "Nellie Ball has a fair share of opponents" as opposed to your version ("Nellie Ball has more than a fair share of opponents"). It seems that you're just trying to overemphasis the opinion that Nellie Ball does not work. Can we please just stick to the former version. Next time you change it please explain why. Thank you. Bash Kash (talk) 02:12, 24 May 2008 (UTC) My apologies, I'm truly sorrySorry about that, my mistake. It just seemed to me at the time that a vast majority of basketball purists have criticized Nellie Ball. Incidentally, though, I must tell you that I originally wrote "Nellie Ball has a fair share of opponents," and at the time it didn't seem strong enough. Now that I look back, it did seem to overstate the case. What I wrote about Nellie Ball is true, though(I did contribute a lot on the article), especially the part about the offense's deficencies and other facts about Nelson and the offense. I ask that this information not be deleted from the article.Mr. Brain (talk) 04:43, 27 May 2008 (UTC)
Error in the "Lead guitarists" category pageI notice that George McCorkle's name is above Yngwie Malmsteen's name on the page when it shouldn't be. "Malmsteen" comes before "McCorkle." Can someone please help show me how to put Malmsteen's name above McCorkle's? Mr. Brain (talk) 14:59, 6 October 2008 (UTC) Chuck SchuldinerThe lead guitarists category is, in many current instances, an outdated one; from a time when a band had one guy who played the leads while the other guy played rhythms. In the case of Schudliner and Death, both guitarists (as the band has always had another guitarist besides Schuldiner) are constantly playing single-note parts, rhythms, and 'solos'. To call Schuldiner a 'lead guitarist' is to call all modern metal guitarists 'lead guitarists'. If he was lead, who was following? A Sniper (talk) 16:42, 17 October 2008 (UTC)
If I remember correctly...Well, Schuldiner should be considered a lead guitarist for his unique guitar solos, which were complex, intricate, and very melodic/symphonic yet lightning fast. If I remember correctly, during his time as frontman of Death, Schuldiner primarily handled a majority of guitar solos on all Death's albums. Whoever was Chuck's co-guitarist on a particular album would handle rhythm duties. True, the co-guitarist would get to play solos occasionally (Andy LaRocque on Individual Thought Patterns and Shannon Hamm on The Sound of Perservance as examples), but Schuldiner played the majority of solos. Excuse me, but I was just merely spotting a mistake....I don't mean to be rude, but under the category "Lead guitarists," I spotted a simple spelling mistake. Mike McCready's last name came before Daron Malakian's name, which was incorrect. Mr. Brain (talk) 04:22, 19 March 2009 (UTC) I understand your edit was in good faith, but please see Wikipedia:Categorization of people#Other exceptions. Speedy deletion of Bango (mascot)![]() A tag has been placed on Bango (mascot) requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section A7 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the article appears to be about about a person, organization (band, club, company, etc.) or web content, but it does not indicate how or why the subject is important or significant: that is, why an article about that subject should be included in an encyclopedia. Under the criteria for speedy deletion, such articles may be deleted at any time. Please see the guidelines for what is generally accepted as notable If you think that this notice was placed here in error, you may contest the deletion by adding Hangon tag on Bango (mascot)Just to let you know that there's no need for the {{hangon}} tag on this page as the speedy has been declined. I see you re-added after both the speedy and the hangon was removed. This was unecessary as once the speedy tag was removed the hang on had nothing to apply to. Once a speedy has been declined it is normally not eligable for speedy (see WP:DP#Speedy deletion) so there's no need for the hangon to remain. Thanks. --Escape Orbit (Talk) 14:47, 21 April 2020 (UTC) Thanks for your message. The problem with the actors and entertainers sections has always been where to draw the line. If there ise a website that gives proper coverage (i.e. not just US actors/entertainers) and is authoritative (i.e. its list is based on some kind of factual measure, not just opinions of random people) then we might have a way forward here. Do you have one in mind? --Escape Orbit (Talk) 17:22, 16 October 2020 (UTC) Well, I have a couple of websites in mind IMDb (Internet Movie Database) and Ranker. Ranker features polls on dozens of topics, including entertainment. But I wanted to run it by you first to see if you would accept those sites as reference points. This way, it wouldn't look like I was going rogue. Mr. Brain (talk) 19:40, 16 October 2020 (UTC) For whom this message may concern, especially any fellow sports fans who may also be Wikipedia members: I think some serious editing needs to be done on the page for the following article: Coaching tree. On the article's page, the coaching trees of Bill Walsh, Marty Schottenheimer and Bill Parcells need to be updated. It's been awhile since any updates have taken place. Also, there's a new section in the article talking about Bill Belichick's coaching tree. It is a large and far-reaching one due to the fact that Belichick has been an NFL head coach for a very long time now. Can we please find a way to create a coaching tree for Bill Belichick? If anyone is interested in helping me, please leave me a message on this talk page of mine. Thank you.
