Voiced linguolabial lateral approximant

Voiced linguolabial lateral approximant
Audio sample

The voiced linguolabial lateral approximant is a type of consonantal sound common in speech disorders. The IPA doesn’t have a dedicated symbol, but the extIPA uses the diacritic combination ⟨⟩.[1]

Although the linguolabial laterals are possible, which is labial, and coronal at the same time, bilabial and labiodental ones are not because lateral consonants need the tongue, which is coronal and a few other places, and bilabial and labiodental are just labial (the lips).

The extIPA has this consonant.[1]

This consonant is one of the linguolabials.[2]
