ਸੰਸਕਾਰ

ਅੰਤਿਮ ਸੰਸਕਾਰ (IAST: Antyeπi, ਸੰਸਕ੍ਰਿਤ: अन्त्येष्टि) ਦਾ ਸ਼ਾਬਦਿਕ ਅਰਥ ਹੈ "ਅੰਤਿਮ ਬਲੀਦਾਨ", ਜੋ ਕਿ ਹਿੰਦੂ ਧਰਮ ਵਿੱਚ ਮੁਰਦਿਆਂ ਲਈ ਅੰਤਿਮ ਸੰਸਕਾਰ ਦੀਆਂ ਰਸਮਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਦਰਸਾਉਂਦਾ ਹੈ। ਜਿਸ ਵਿੱਚ ਆਮ ਤੌਰ ਤੇ ਮ੍ਰਿਤਕ ਸਰੀਰ ਦਾ ਸਸਕਾਰ ਸ਼ਾਮਲ ਹੁੰਦਾ ਹੈ। ਵਿਅਕਤੀਗਤ ਜੀਵਨ ਦੀ ਇਹ ਰਸਮ ਰਵਾਇਤੀ ਜੀਵਨ ਚੱਕਰ ਸੰਸਕਾਰਾਂ ਦੀ ਇੱਕ ਲੜੀ ਦਾ ਆਖਰੀ ਸੰਸਕਾਰ ਹੈ ਜੋ ਹਿੰਦੂ ਪਰੰਪਰਾ ਵਿੱਚ ਧਾਰਨਾ ਤੋਂ ਸ਼ੁਰੂ ਹੁੰਦੀ ਹੈ।^[2][3] ਇਸ ਨੂੰ ਅੰਤਿਮ ਸੰਸਕਾਰ, ਅੰਤ-ਕਿਰਿਆ, ਅਨਵਰੋਹਨਿਆ, ਜਾਂ ਵਾਹਨੀ ਸੰਸਕਾਰ ਵੀ ਕਿਹਾ ਜਾਂਦਾ ਹੈ।^[4]

ਸੰਸਕਾਰ ਰਸਮੋ-ਰਵਾਜ ਖੇਤਰ, ਸਮਾਜਿਕ ਸਮੂਹ, ਲਿੰਗ ਅਤੇ ਮ੍ਰਿਤਕਾਂ ਦੀ ਉਮਰ 'ਤੇ ਨਿਰਭਰ ਕਰਦੇ ਹਨ।^[5][6][7]

ਹਿੰਦੂ ਧਰਮ ਦੇ ਪ੍ਰਾਚੀਨ ਸਾਹਿਤ ਦੇ ਇਸ ਆਧਾਰ ਦੇ ਆਲੇ-ਦੁਆਲੇ ਜੀਵਨ ਲੜੀ ਦੀ ਅੰਤਿਮ ਰੀਤੀ-ਰਿਵਾਜ ਦੀ ਬਣਤਰ ਕੀਤੀ ਗਈ ਹੈ ਕਿ ਸਾਰੇ ਜੀਵਾਂ ਦਾ ਸੂਖਮ ਰੂਪ ਬ੍ਰਹਿਮੰਡ ਦੇ ਇੱਕ ਮੈਕਰੋਕੋਜ਼ਮ ਦਾ ਪ੍ਰਤੀਬਿੰਬ ਹੈ।^[8] ਆਤਮਾ ਅਮਰ ਹੈ ਅਤੇ ਸਰੀਰ ਨਾਸ਼ਵਾਨ। ਸਰੀਰ ਅਤੇ ਬ੍ਰਹਿਮੰਡ ਦੋਵੇਂ ਹਿੰਦੂ ਧਰਮ ਦੇ ਵੱਖ-ਵੱਖ ਸੰਸਾਰਾਂ ਦੇ ਵਾਹਨ ਅਤੇ ਪਰਿਵਰਤਨਸ਼ੀਲ ਹਨ। ਮਨੁੱਖੀ ਸਰੀਰ ਅਤੇ ਬ੍ਰਹਿਮੰਡ ਵਿੱਚ ਹਿੰਦੂ ਗ੍ਰੰਥਾਂ ਵਿੱਚ ਪੰਜ ਤੱਤ ਹਨ - ਹਵਾ, ਪਾਣੀ, ਅੱਗ, ਧਰਤੀ ਅਤੇ ਅਕਾਸ਼।^[9] ਜੀਵਨ ਦੀ ਆਖਰੀ ਰਸਮ ਸਰੀਰ ਨੂੰ ਪੰਜ ਤੱਤਾਂ ਅਤੇ ਇਸ ਦੇ ਮੂਲ ਵੱਲ ਵਾਪਸ ਕਰ ਦਿੰਦੀ ਹੈ। ਇਸ ਵਿਸ਼ਵਾਸ ਦੀਆਂ ਜੜ੍ਹਾਂ ਵੇਦਾਂ ਵਿੱਚ ਮਿਲਦੀਆਂ ਹਨ, ਉਦਾਹਰਣ ਵਜੋਂ ਰਿਗਵੇਦ ਦੀ ਬਾਣੀ ਅਧਿਆਇ 10.16 ਵਿੱਚ ਹੈ।^[10]
