自1995年至今，已经有65款基于乐高主题的商业电子游戏面世。在第二款乐高主题电子游戏：由Mindscape开发并发行的《乐高乐园》之后，乐高集团成立了游戏发行部门“Lego Media”来发行基于乐高自己产品线的改编游戏。2001年，部门更名为“Lego Software”，并在次年再次更名为“Lego Interactive”；同年乐高关闭了该部门。一些Lego Interactive的前员工成立了新公司“巨人互动娱乐”并获得继续为乐高开发相关游戏的授权，之后它与THQ达成两年的合作协议并制作发行了两款游戏，直到在制作《乐高星球大战》时被Traveller's Tales收购合并。在交易完成后，Traveller's Tales进行了改组，Traveller's Tales和巨人互动娱乐被纳入到TT Games名下，Traveller's Tales成为游戏制作部门，巨人互动娱乐变更为游戏发行部门“TT Games Publishing”。TT Games在之后开发了基于《星球大战》、《蝙蝠侠》、《摇滚乐队》等主题的乐高电子游戏。2007年，TT Games被华纳兄弟互动娱乐收购，而至此华纳兄弟互动娱乐成为乐高电子游戏的授权方及制作方[1]。
