The Marine Parade–Braddell Heights Group Representation Constituency is a five-member group representation constituency (GRC) in the eastern region of Singapore. The GRC was created in March 2025 prior to the general election.[1]

History

The GRC was merged from various constituencies – parts of Potong Pasir and Mountbatten Single Member Constituencies (SMC), the whole of MacPherson SMC and part of Marine Parade GRC.[2] The Chai Chee HDB estates and Siglap private estates were also moved from the original Marine Parade GRC to East Coast GRC.[3]

2025 election

Prior to Nomination Day for the 2025 general election, it was widely assumed that the Workers' Party (WP) would contest in the constituency. However, the constituency ultimately saw a walkover with only the People's Action Party (PAP), formed of incumbent MPs Seah Kian Peng, Faishal Ibrahim, Tin Pei Ling, and new candidates Diana Pang and Goh Pei Ming contesting. This is the first walkover in a general election since 2011.[4] WP's leader Pritam Singh attributed the party's reasoning to ultimately not contest in this area to limited resources as well as the extensive redrawing of electoral boundaries from the previous Marine Parade Group Representation Constituency.[5] However, this move drew some criticism from several smaller opposition parties who stated that they were taken by surprise and disappointment, and that every constituency should be contested.[6]
