WWEクラウン・ジュエル[1]（WWE Crown Jewel）は、アメリカ合衆国のプロレス団体WWEが主催する興行の名称である。同PPVの名称でもある。
2018年
背景
WWEは2018年4月27日にジッダでグレイテスト・ロイヤルランブルを開催。大成功を収めたことで、サウジアラビアで第二弾の興行を11月2日に首都リヤドで行うと発表。当初はキング・ファハド国際スタジアムの予定だったが、急遽会場がキングサウード大学スタジアムに変更となった[2]。しかしジャマル・カショギ殺害事件の影響で開催が危ぶまれていたが、WWEは予定通り開催すると発表した[3]。なお、前回のサウジ公演に続き女子選手は6日前のエボリューション出場のため参加しない。大会後はアメリカに帰国せず、イングランド・マンチェスターでの『ロウ』、『スマックダウン』テレビ収録に臨む。
大会までのあらすじ
8月19日のサマースラムでロマン・レインズがブロック・レスナーを破りWWEユニバーサル王者を奪取した。翌日の『ロウ』、フィン・ベイラーを破り初防衛に成功したレインズだったがその直後ブラウン・ストローマンがマネー・イン・ザ・バンクの行使を要求。結果的にザ・シールドによって阻止された。9月16日のヘル・イン・ア・セルでヘル・イン・ア・セル形式でのWWEユニバーサル選手権試合レインズvsストローマンが行われたが、終盤にレスナーが乱入。扉を破壊し、試合を台無しにしたままノーコンテストで終了。翌日の『ロウ』でレインズ、レスナー、ストローマンによるトリプルスレット形式でのWWEユニバーサル選手権試合が行われることが決定するはずだった。しかし10月22日の『ロウ』冒頭、レインズが白血病再発を告白。同時にWWEユニバーサル王座を返上することを明かされ、会場は騒然。急遽レスナーとストローマンによる王座決定戦をこの大会で組むことが決定した[4]。9月17日の『ロウ』でWWEワールドカップ開催を発表[1]。ロウ、スマックダウン各4名ずつの8名のトーナメント戦を実施する。一方、WWE王座はMCGでのスーパーショー・ダウンでサモア・ジョーを破ったAJスタイルズが同じスーパーショー・ダウンで次期挑戦者決定戦でザ・ミズに勝利したダニエル・ブライアンと対戦することになった[5]。しかし10月30日放送の『スマックダウン』でコミッショナーのシェイン・マクマホンがスタイルズとブライアンのWWE選手権試合を開催すると宣言[6]。試合はブライアンがギブアップでスタイルズが王座を死守[7]。しかしその後サモア・ジョーが乱入。GMペイジは急遽スタイルズとジョーの王座戦を本大会での開催が決定した[8][9]。10.6MCGでのスーパーショー・ダウンでジ・アンダーテイカーに勝利したトリプルHは2010年のレッスルマニアXXVI以来8年半ぶりにリング復帰するショーン・マイケルズとのD-ジェネレーションXを復活、ブラザーズ・オブ・デストラクションとのタッグチームマッチを行う[10]。10月16日にワシントンD.C.で行われた『SmackDown 1000』。スマックダウンタッグ選手権試合でニュー・デイとザ・バーが対戦。しかし終盤にビッグ・ショーが乱入。ザ・バーが新王者となった。その翌週の『SmackDown LIVE』で本大会での再戦が決定した。

WWEワールドカップは8人によるトーナメント戦を行う国別の大会。大会に先駆けて予選が10月の『ロウ』『スマックダウン』で行われた[25]
