皮亞尼茲基龍（屬名：Piatnitzkysaurus，發音：/ˌpiːətnɪtskiːˈsɔːrəs/ pee-ət-NYITS-kee-SOR-əs，意為「皮亞尼茲基的蜥蜴」）是一屬斑龍超科的獸腳亞目恐龍，生存於約1億6600萬至1億6400萬年前的侏羅紀中期，地理範圍相當於現代的南美洲阿根廷。皮亞尼茲基龍是中等體型、體格輕盈、雙足（英语：Bipedalism）、陸生的肉食性動物。身長可長至6.6公尺。

發現及命名

模式種弗氏皮亞尼茲基龍（Piatnitzkysaurus floresi）於1979年由何塞·波拿巴所敘述、命名，屬名來自已故俄裔阿根廷地質學家Alejandro Matveievich Piatnitzky（1879－1959）。正模標本PVL 4073於1977年、1982年、1983年的三次挖掘活動中，在屬於侏羅紀中期卡洛維階（約1億6600萬至1億6400萬年前）的瀝青谷組（英语：Cañadón Asfalto Formation）沉積層所採集。曾一度被認為是基礎肉食龍下目，^[1]後來被分類為斑龍超科。^[2]

敘述

總共有兩個已知的部分骨骼：一個破碎的頭骨、和兩個部分顱後骨骼，其中一個是副模標本（英语：paratype）MACN CH 895；牠是目前所知最完整的侏儸紀中期南半球獸腳類標本。皮亞尼茲基龍是種相對輕盈的中型二足肉食性動物，身長約4.3公尺，體重約450公斤，這是根據屬於亞成年體的正模標本所作的估計。^[3]牠擁有健壯的手臂及強有力的後腿，每隻腳有4根腳趾。髂骨長42.3公分。^[4]腦殼類似其他斑龍超科，如法國的皮韋托龍屬。^[5]

班森（1992）指出了整體上與異特龍的相似性，但兩者間仍有關鍵上的差異。^[6]皮亞尼茲基龍的肩胛骨較短且寬於更先進的堅尾龍類。肱骨為股骨長度的50％，這是獸腳類的原始特徵。尺骨對肱骨、股骨的相對長度近似於基礎獸腳類，代表皮亞尼茲基龍的前肢比例上長於異特龍。另一項原始特徵是恥骨和坐骨之間寬的接觸面，不同於異特龍和其他進階型堅尾龍類（接觸面縮短）。皮亞尼茲基龍的恥骨腳比異特龍的還要中度發育。^[7]

有認為互成姊妹群的神鷹盜龍與皮亞尼茲基龍兩屬，彼此間強烈的相似性是由於物種內個體差異所造成，而不能被歸類為不同的屬。兩者主要差異在於神鷹盜龍的砝硠質冠發育程度弱、第一薦骨的孔洞較淺。^[7]

腦殼

皮亞尼茲基龍的腦殼最早由Oliver Rauhut進行詳細的檢視；並成為少數對於基礎獸腳類腦殼形態的詳細描述之一。皮亞尼茲基龍是皮亞尼茲基龍科中唯一保存頭骨材料的物種，已知有包括兩個上頜骨、一個額骨、一個腦殼及一個部分齒骨。皮亞尼茲基龍是堅尾龍類最基礎的物種之一，對於侏儸紀中期南半球獸腳類演化、以及了解基礎獸腳類特徵演化都具有相當重要的意義。^[5]

皮亞尼茲基龍正模標本PVL 4073的腦殼保存相對良好且未有變形跡象。頭骨各部分骨頭間的縫線只有部分可見，代表正模標本是一個亞成年個體。這也與顱後骨骼的癒合狀態一致。腦殼的一項不尋常特徵在於副蝶骨（英语：Parasphenoid）凹陷，僅在另外兩種非鳥類獸腳類：中國獵龍和中國鳥龍有被描述。鑑於基礎堅尾龍類皮亞尼茲基龍與進階型恐爪龍下目之間遙遠的系統發生學關係，這樣的凹陷特徵代表著趨同演化，並被認為是皮亞尼茲基龍的一項自衍徵。腦殼另一項值得注意的是突出的鉤狀基蝶骨翼，是一項在角鼻龍、異特龍、暴龍也能觀察到的特徵。^[7]

分類

斑龍超科中最基礎的演化支包含神鷹盜龍、馬什龍、皮亞尼茲基龍、宣漢龍。下一程度基礎的演化支由川東虛骨龍、單脊龍所構成。但這些演化支與斑龍超科本身的關聯性並沒有明確的演化樹理論來支持，因此未來的分析牠們可能全都被排除於斑龍超科之外。^[2]
