2021年国际汽联世界一级方程式锦标赛 （英语：2021 FIA Formula One World Championship）为一级方程式赛车 的第72届世界锦标赛 赛事，这是由国际动力运动 主管组织国际汽车联盟 所主办的最高级别开轮式赛车 赛事。
本屆一級方程式錦標賽的赛事规则原本是自混动时代以来，第一次大规模修改；而且地面效应 （文丘里效应 ）自被禁之后首次重新允许赛车使用，以减小下压力损失及跟车乱流影响。但2020赛季因2019冠状病毒病疫情 的缘故，研发工作受到影响。這促使10支F1车队的领队与FIA主席让·托德 、F1老板切斯·凯里 、F1运动总监罗斯·布朗 于2020年3月19日召开电话会议，并最终同意将2021款新规，推迟到2022年执行。[ 1]
相较于上赛季受到疫情的严重影响，本赛季的赛历恢复了多场在欧洲以外的比赛，赛历也达到了22场比赛，成为一级方程式锦标有史以来赛最多的赛季。
梅赛德斯车队 在2021年阿布扎比大奖赛 获得年度车队总冠军，连续8个赛季赢得该荣誉。马克斯·维斯塔潘 在2021年阿布扎比大奖赛 上击败刘易斯·汉密尔顿 并获得年度车手总冠军，这是他第一个车手总冠军，同时也终止了汉密尔顿四连冠的纪录及梅赛德斯車手連續七年奪冠。本季是自2008年賽季 後首次車手和車隊冠軍來自不同車隊。
馬克斯·維斯塔潘 夺得首个世界车手冠军。衞冕冠軍劉易斯·咸美頓 以亞軍完成賽季。 維爾特利·鮑達斯 以季軍完成賽季。梅賽德斯 奪得第八個車隊冠軍 。

賽點車隊 老闆勞倫斯·斯托爾的財團於2020年初投資了1.82億英鎊收購了阿斯頓·馬丁 20%的股份，賽點車隊將於2021年開始更名為阿斯顿·马丁车队 （Aston Martin Cognizant F1 Team 阿斯顿·马丁车队 宣佈美國 信息技術企業高知特 正式取代BWT成為該車隊冠名贊助商。[ 34] 迈凯伦车队 在2019年9月宣布车队将从2021年赛季开始使用梅赛德斯 的动力单元，此前他们曾在1995赛季至2014赛季合作长达20年，期间获得了78场胜利，并赢得3次车手世界总冠军。迈凯伦车队从2018年至2020年使用的是雷诺 的动力单元。[ 35] 威廉姆斯车队 在2020年8月将车队出售给美国投资机构多瑞尔顿资本（Dorilton Capital），虽然车队名称和总部依旧保持不变，但其缔造者威廉姆斯家族从此告别征战了43年的一级方程式赛事。[ 36]
綠色表示在2021年舉辦大獎賽 的國家，以黑點標記出賽道的所在位置。曾舉辦過的國家以深灰色表示，並以白點標示出當時的比賽賽道。 本屆一級方程式錦標賽原訂的賽程表是有史以來最緊湊的，共包含有23場大獎賽賽事，為這項運動歷史上賽事最多、時間最長的一個賽季。因疫情關係目前預訂將舉行22場賽事，仍是歷史上賽事最多的賽季。

2020年11月10日，F1公布了2021年的赛程安排，其中包括了23站比赛，成为赛事历史上举办场次最多的赛季。[ 82] 2020年11月10日，F1公布了2021赛季的临时赛历，越南大奖赛 将不会在2021赛季举办，原因可能与河内政府官员贪腐遭到调查有关。[ 83] 2021年1月12日，F1公布了2021年新的赛程安排，由於澳大利亚大奖赛 需要推遲舉行，因此將由三月開幕戰更改至十一月舉行，而開幕戰將改為在巴林開展賽季。另外，受限於旅行限制，中國大獎賽 暫時無法安排在賽程當中，所以由安佐與迪諾·法拉利賽道 補上空缺，而F1赛事亦會繼續與中國大獎賽負責人及有關當局進行討論，以望在本賽季晚些時候重新安排比賽的時間。[ 71] 2021年8月18日，F1宣佈了日本大奖赛 將不會出現在2021賽季，比賽原定於10月8日至10日在在鈴鹿市 的鈴鹿賽道 舉行舉行，稍後時間會公佈替代方案，目標仍然是維持23場大獎賽比賽。[ 86] 2021年8月28日，F1宣佈了2021賽季將減至22場賽事，而土耳其、墨西哥城及聖保羅大奬賽均會延遲一星期舉辦。[ 87]
2019年11月1日，FIA与FOM在美国大奖赛前正式通过并公布2021新规（运动、技术与财务），这些规则将带来大幅改变空力设计的赛车，以及多年讨论但从未施行的“预算帽”（Budget cap）。但是由于2019冠状病毒病疫情 的影响，2020年3月，F1宣布2021年新规将延后到2022年赛季 实施。[ 89] [ 90]
F1在2009年第一次提到预算帽，当时FIA由前任莫斯利掌管。距離至今已经过去了10年，2021年賽季终于付诸实行，这在F1历史上是第一次使用预算帽。虽然受到2019冠状病毒病疫情 影响，导致F1宣布2021年赛季的新规则将推后至2022年赛季开始实施，但是预算帽将按计划于2021年起开始执行。[ 91]
2021年起將引入預算上限，每支參賽隊伍每年最多只能支出1.45億美元。[ 92] [ 93] [ f] [ 94] 2019冠状病毒病疫情 威脅到多達四支車隊達至財務虧損。[ 95] [ 96] 罗斯·布朗 透露在未來幾年內會進一步降低預算上限。[ 93]
預算上限的預設為21場分站比賽，每加一站或减一站比赛，预算帽分别增加或减少100万美金。关于车手薪资，则不包含在预算帽内。其他不计入其中的费用还有：車隊最高薪资的三名高層職員、车队的市场开销、非F1活动开销、年终分红、FIA参赛费以及车手超级驾照费等。[ 97] [ 98] [ 97] [ 97]
車隊在2021賽季研發及更新賽車部件將受到限制，[ 99] 2019冠状病毒病疫情 給車隊帶來的財務壓力。[ 100] 倍耐力 的要求，規定了車隊在新賽季需要進行某些更改，例如縮減賽車底盤的外地板面積，以減低下壓力水平。[ 101] 迈凯伦车队 需要從雷諾 更換到梅斯特斯 引擎，車隊獲准額外修改其賽車上的組件但不需使用代幣。[ 102] [ 103] [ 104]
新賽季將禁止使用雙軸轉向系統（Dual-Axis Steering）；由梅赛德斯车队 在2020賽季所研發並率先採用。[ 105] [ 106]
新規則要求車隊至少在整個賽季內其中兩個大獎賽的周五練習賽(FP1)中更換一位車手，目的是給予更多機會讓非一級方程式車手能夠駕駛一級方程式賽車，但如果車隊車手名單中有一名正賽車手是首個賽季參加，車隊則會被當作符合了新規則要求。[ 107] [ 108]
在2020年萨基尔大奖赛 中，梅賽德斯 車手喬治·羅素 進入維修站進行更換輪胎，但更換錯了維爾特利·鮑達斯 的輪胎。這一錯誤經國際汽聯檢視後，對輪胎使用規則作出調整；使用了混合輪胎(如前胎使用軟胎但後胎使用中性胎)或使用了分配給其他車手的輪胎，該名車手將被強制在兩圈內必須進入維修站糾正錯誤，然後賽後再進行罰款。[ 109]
近年FIA规定了每個分站的正赛距离不能少于305公里，亦不能大于320公里(摩納哥大獎賽 的260公里除外)，同時比賽时间不能少于1个小时10分钟，亦不能大于2个小时。但是，如果出現紅旗令比賽暫停，時鐘將一直停止直到賽事恢復。在2011年加拿大大奖赛 比賽用時4小時04分鐘39秒537之後，引入了新的規定，將比賽時間限制為四小時。然而，在2021年運動新規列出，如出現紅旗令比賽暫停，比賽時間限制由四小時縮減至三小時內完成比賽。[ 110]
從2021年賽季開始，比賽週末結構將進行修訂。根據以往的結構，比賽週末跨越四天，比賽前的星期四預留給媒體採訪，營銷活動和審查。但是，根據新規定比賽周末安排的更加緊湊，從四天壓縮到三天。所有星期四的活動都將移至星期五上午，從而減少了星期五的活動時間。賽前的車檢亦從周四改到周五早上，必須在FP1開始一個半小時之前完成。同時更加嚴格的是新引入的「reference specification」規則。按照這條規定，除了散熱器，車隊周五車檢的時候，使用的是什麼套件，就必須用什麼套件參加餘下的比賽。車隊可以在FP1和FP2中測試部件，但是不准在該站比賽中使用。此舉的目的是為了限制車隊花錢，因為資金充足的車隊通常會帶幾套前翼方案去大獎賽周末上路比較，然後挑選其中一套使用。與此同時，賽車封存的時間節點(parc fermé)也跟着修改了。過去是賽車從排位駛離車庫開始。現在提前到FP3。在FP3到排位開始之前，允許的調節有懸吊、重量分配、引擎和變速箱的冷卻、剎車通風道、尾翼。從排位到正賽開始前的賽車封存期間，除了前翼，車隊不得對賽車的懸吊調校、空氣動力學做任何修改，否則將從維修站起步。[ 111]
2021年女子方程式錦標賽 亦會連同国际汽联二级方程式锦标赛 、国际汽联三级方程式锦标赛 和2021年保时捷超级杯 保罗·里卡尔赛道 開展賽季，同時作為支援法國大獎賽 的系列賽，一直至十月墨西哥城大獎賽 賽事。[ 112] [ 113]
衝刺排位賽將在英國大獎賽 、意大利大獎賽和另外一個大獎賽上進行測試。[ 114] 2022年賽季 中更多大獎賽引入衝刺排位賽。[ 115]
原定季前測試在蒙特梅洛 巴塞罗那-加泰罗尼亚赛道 進行，但因為受到2019冠状病毒病 的影響而無法舉行季前測試。後來F1公佈了季前測試將改在3月22日於萨基尔 巴林国际赛道 進行為期三日的測試。[ 116] 巴林大獎賽 的人員提供輝瑞BioNTech疫苗 。[ 117] [ 118]
本季季後測試為期兩日，當中包括年青車手測試和輪胎測試。[ 119] [ 120]
每個比賽周末前倍耐力 都會在下列五種輪胎配方中選擇三種作爲比賽用胎。每個輪胎都必須裝上獨一無二的識別碼，以便在比賽期間進行追踪和檢查。倘若賽道濕滑或正在下雨，車隊可自行確定是否使用濕地用胎；每場比賽車隊都會獲得七套濕地用胎，包含四套半雨胎和三套全雨胎。倍耐力會因應比賽周末整體使用情況而額外供應濕地用胎給全部車隊。

夺冠车手必须完成75%的赛程，方能获得全额积分。若夺冠车手未完成75%的赛程，但已跑完至少两圈，则积分以一半计之。假使积分排名出现同分状况时，将比较车手获得的分站冠军数，决定最终的排行榜名次。排名前十名的車手能夠獲得積分，而刷出最快圈速的車手必須在前十名才能獲得1分最快圈速積分。[ 126] [ 127]
