အစိုးရဝန်ထမ်းအားလုံးကို " နိုင်ငံ့ဝန်ထမ်း "ဟုခေါ်သည်။ ၎င်းတို့၏ အဆင့်များနှင့် ခန့်အပ်မှုများကို အမျိုးအစား နှစ်မျိုးဖြင့် အုပ်စုဖွဲ့ထားသည်-
အရာထမ်း သို့မဟုတ် ပြန်တမ်းဝင်အရာရှိ - ရာထူးတိုးခြင်းနှင့် ခန့်အပ်ခြင်းတို့ကို မြန်မာနိုင်ငံပြန်တမ်းတွင် မှတ်တမ်းတင်ထားသည်။
အမှုထမ်း/အခြားအဆင့် - ပြန်တမ်းဝင်အရာရှိများအောက် ရာထူး။[ ၁] တပ်မတော်သားများနှင့် ရဲတပ်ဖွဲ့ဝင်များသည် အရပ်ဘက်ဝန်ထမ်းများတွင် ပါဝင်သော်လည်း ၎င်းတို့၏ တာဝန်ထမ်းဆောင်မှု သဘောသဘာဝကြောင့် ဝန်ထမ်းများ၏ စည်းမျဉ်းစည်းကမ်းများသည် ၎င်းတို့နှင့်သက်ဆိုင်ခြင်းမရှိပေ။
မြန်မာ့တပ်မတော်၏ ရာထူးအဆင့်အဆောင်အယောင်သည် မြန်မာနိုင်ငံရှိ အခြားအဆင့်အဆောင်အယောင်အားလုံးအတွက် အခြေခံပုံစံဖြစ်သည်။
အချို့သောဌာန/အဖွဲ့အစည်းများသည် တူညီသောအဆောင်အယောင်များကို အရောင်အမျိုးမျိုးဖြင့် အသုံးပြုကြသည် (ဥပမာ- မြန်မာနိုင်ငံရဲတပ်ဖွဲ့ ၏ ရာထူးအဆောင်အယောင် )။ [ ၂]
အချို့က ပုံစံတူသော်လည်း တပ်မတော်ကြယ်ပွင့်များအစား အဖွဲ့အစည်း၏ သင်္ကေတကို အသုံးပြုကြသည် (ဥပမာ- မြန်မာနိုင်ငံကြက်ခြေနီအသင်း ၏ အဆင့်အဆောင်အယောင်)။
တပ်မတော်နှင့်တူသော ယူနီဖောင်းစနစ်ကို အသုံးမပြုသော ဌာနများသည် ရာထူးအဆောင်အယောင်များကို ရင်ထိုးတံဆိပ်အနေဖြင့် အသုံးပြုသည် (ဥပမာ- အထွေထွေအုပ်ချုပ်ရေးဦးစီးဌာန ၏ ရာထူးအဆင့် အဆောင်အယောင် )။ [ ၃]
အခြားနိုင်ငံများ၏ လက်နက်ကိုင်တပ်ဖွဲ့များနှင့် မတူဘဲ တပ်မတော် ၏ နယ်ပယ် သုံးရပ်ဖြစ်သည့် တပ်မတော် (ကြည်း) ၊ တပ်မတော် (ရေ) နှင့် တပ်မတော် (လေ) တို့သည် တူညီသော ရာထူးအဆင့်နှင့် အဆောင်အယောင်နှင့် ရာထူးဘွဲ့အမည်ကို မြန်မာဘာသာဖြင့် တပြေးညီ အသုံးပြုသည်။ သို့သော် တပ်အလိုက် အင်္ဂလိပ်ဘာသာပြန် ခေါင်းစဉ်များ ကွဲပြားသည်။ ဥပမာအားဖြင့် မြန်မာဘာသာတွင် ကြယ်သုံးပွင့် ဗိုလ်ချုပ် အဆင့်သည် ဗိုလ်ချုပ် ဖြစ်သည်။ သို့သော် အင်္ဂလိပ်ဘာသာပြန်ဆိုပါက ၎င်းသည် တပ်မတော် (ကြည်း)နှင့် လေတပ် အတွက် "Major General" ဖြစ်ပြီး ရေတပ်အတွက်မူ "Rear Admiral" ဖြစ်သည်။
မြန်မာ့တပ်မတော်တွင် တပ်မတော်တက္ကသိုလ်များ ( [[စစ်တက္ကသိုလ် (ပြင်ဦးလွင်
)|DSA]], DSMA , DSTA , စသည်) မှ ဘွဲ့ရဗိုလ်လောင်းများနှင့် အရာရှိလေ့ကျင့်ရေးကျောင်း (OTS) များမှ ကျောင်းဆင်းသူများကို ဒုတိယဗိုလ်အဆင့်ဖြင့် ပြန်တမ်းဝင်အရာရှိများအဖြစ် တိုက်ရိုက်ခန့်အပ်သည်။ [ ၄]
တပ်မတော်ရှိ ထူးခြားသော ရာထူးအဆင့်မှာ ဒုတိယ ဗိုလ်ချုပ်မှူးကြီး (Vice senior general) ဖြစ်ပြီး ယင်းသည် ကြယ်ငါးပွင့်အဆင့် ဗိုလ်ချုပ်မှူးကြီး နှင့် ကြယ်လေးပွင့် ဗိုလ်ချုပ်ကြီး အကြား အဆင့်ဖြစ်သည်။ ယင်းသည်လည်း ကြယ်လေးပွင့်အဆင့်ပင်ဖြစ်သော်လည်း ဗိုလ်ချုပ်ကြီး ထက် မြင့်မားသည်။
ရာထူး အဆင့်အလိုက် ပုံမှန် အဆောင်အယောင်များအပြင်၊ ဗိုလ်မှူးချုပ် အဆင့်နှင့်အထက် အရာရှိကြီးများသာ တပ်ဆင်/ အသုံးပြုရသော အထူး အဆောင်အယောင်များလည်းရှိသည်။
