Постмадэрні́зм — плынь у грамадскай свядомасці. Азначылася ў 1980-х, некаторыя аўтары лічаць умоўнай датай з’яўлення 1989 г. Плынь актыўна складвалася пасля 2-й сусв. вайны, перадумовы існавалі раней.
Асноўныя характарыстыкі:
рэлятывізм праўды (ісціны): адмова ад аб’ектыўнасці паняццяў сапраўднасці і памылковасці, увядзенне паняцця аб сітуацыйнай і асабовай адноснасці праўды, яе дэтэрмінавасці групавай культурай;
рэканструкцыя мовы, моўны дэканструкцыянізм: ператварэнне моўных азначэнняў з «прыгнятальных» да «па-за-маральных» і такіх, якія не закладаюць існавання стандартаў, мерак;
мульты-культуралізм і варожасць да «традыцыйнай» заходняй—хрысціянскай культуры; адмаўленне асаблівай ролі чалавека;
Непасрэдныя наступствы існавання плыні ў культуры:
узнікненне паняцця аб непазнавальнасці гісторыі, прынцыповае засяроджанне ўвагі на «сучаснасці і будучыні»;[1]
узнікненне метафікцыі («супер-рэалізму», «магічнага рэалізму»); перанос цэнтру ўвагі аўтара з уласна твору на ўспрыйманне твору аўдыторыяй, часта шакіраванне, эпатаж;
беспрэцэдэнтны ўплыў на грамадскую думку ініцыятыў і рухаў, аб’ектам якіх прынцыпова не з’яўляецца чалавецтва (напр., экалагічны рух).
