மன்னர் சுத்தோதனர் யானை மீது அமர்ந்து ஊர்வலமாகச் சென்று புத்தரைக் கண்டு, ஆலமரத்தை வழங்குதல். மேற்புறத்தில் மாயாவின் கனவில் யானை. சாஞ்சி சிற்பம்[1]சிற்பத்தின் மேற்புறத்தில் கௌதம புத்தர் பிறக்கும் முன், மாயாவின் கனவில் யானை
புத்தரின் தந்தை சுத்தோதனர் - தாய் மாயா வாழ்ந்த நகரம் ஆகும். புத்தர் தமது 29வது அகவையில், மனைவி யசோதரை, மகன் ராகுலனை அரண்மனையில் விட்டகன்று, துறவறம் மேற்கொள்ளும் வரை கபிலவஸ்துவின் அரண்மனையில் வாழ்ந்தவர்.[2]
